nesys Works supports students to career success through a multifaceted program pipeline: 1) An eight-week professional and technical skills training during the summer 2) year-long, paid internships with one of our 50+ corporate partners 3) College and career access guidance 4) Alumni support for our high school graduates as they continue their education and career pathways. Our supervisors play a vital role in making the internship experience impactful. From mentoring to creating hands-on projects and fostering professional growth, they invest their time and expertise to help interns develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their careers.

✅ Did you know? By the end of the 2025–2026 internship year, Genesys Works supervisors will have collectively invested more than 1,000 hours in supporting interns and engaging with GW programming. 💥🤯💥

Recently, GW staff had an amazing time celebrating this incredible milestone and recognizing our dedicated supervisor community at our 2nd Annual Supervisor Happy Hour at La Doña Cervecería!

Our supervisors and partner companies are helping change the trajectory of young professionals’ lives, while strengthening their teams with motivated, emerging talent—creating value for their organizations and our communities at large.

From Genesys Works Young Professional ➡️ to Genesys Works Twin Cities full-time employee — our operations team just gained a superstar. ⭐

Shazam Ullah joined Genesys Works Twin Cities in the Class of 2022 as a rising high school senior with big aspirations for a career in tech, but uncertainty around how to get there during the challenges of the Covid era.

When he found Genesys Works, new possibilities started to take shape. ✨

After completing our professional skills summer training program, Shazam was placed at Optum as an AI Platform and Transformation Intern — an opportunity that helped launch his professional career before graduating high school.

After beginning his college journey at University of Minnesota, Shazam stayed connected to the Genesys Works community — this time giving back as an alumni Operations Intern on our own Twin Cities team.

Today, we are incredibly proud to welcome him in a new role as a full-time Operations Specialist. 🥳

“Genesys Works changed my life. And I know I’m not the exception, I’m the outcome of opportunity.”

⌛ Please hold — Class of 2027 loading. ⌛ We're so excited that acceptance letters have rolled out as we get ready to welcome in the next generation of Genesys Works Young Professionals!

✅ This recruitment season, we received a total of 713 applications from 84 high schools across the Twin Cities Metro area.

📩 We are beyond thrilled to have officially invited and received RSVPs from just over 200 rising seniors who will kick off Summer Training with us this June! ✨

This spring, our partners at Medtronic launched "Inspire!", a new internal tool designed to help employees connect their day-to-day work to Medtronic’s mission, products, and the patients they serve. 💡

What makes this launch especially meaningful? "Inspire!" was developed by Genesys Works interns. ✨

“'Inspire!' shows how Medtronic can combine mission-driven thinking with real-world AI delivery,” says the talented intern team behind this project, composed of Vivian Her, Nathan Ku, Fromsa Abdulle, Imad Isack, and Shelly Omer. 👏

This project is a powerful example of what’s possible when young professionals are given meaningful, real-world opportunities. Genesys Works interns didn’t just support the work—they drove it, delivering a solution that strengthens connection, clarity, and purpose across an entire organization. ✅
