Genesys Works’ mission is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. We envision a future where all young adults are equipped and empowered with the knowledge and skills required to achieve career success, upward mobility, and a lifetime of economic self-sufficiency. Genesys Works supports students to career success through a multifaceted program pipeline: 1) An eight-week professional and technical skills training during the summer 2) year-long, paid internships with one of our 50+ corporate partners 3) College and career access guidance 4) Alumni support for our high school graduates as they continue their education and career pathways. In the 2026-2027 program cycle, Genesys Works Twin Cities has connected 214 students with corporate technology and business internships at 34 partner companies. That includes 150 high school seniors and 64 college-level interns. As they begin their positions and start contributing to impactful projects, we are so excited to cheer on our young professionals and track their growth over the year as they gain valuable corporate work experiences all while still in school.

Ecolab has been part of the Genesys Works story from the beginning. In 2008, Ecolab became the first Twin Cities company to commit to hosting Genesys Works interns, taking four of the 11 students placed that inaugural summer. Eighteen years later, that investment continues to pay off: Juan Puentes, one of those original Class One interns, still works at Ecolab today after first starting his IT career there while in high school.

Ecolab doesn’t just host interns—it invests in their development while building its future workforce through a strong talent pipeline. This past year, Ecolab hired two Genesys Works interns into full-time positions, a powerful example of the long-term impact the program can have.

That long-term commitment is exactly why Ecolab was recognized with two awards at this year’s Draft Day, the Ever Upward Award and the Best Internship Experience Award.

To capture these stories, we were excited to partner with Youth Lens 360, LLC – a video production company that works with untapped local youth building their media careers; a mission kindred with Genesys Works. 👏

Two weeks ago today, Genesys Works celebrated Draft Day, ✨ where students walked across the stage to kick off meaningful work opportunities at 34 partner companies. It was a celebration of the 150 remarkable high school students who, over eight weeks of the summer, decided to invest in themselves and their futures.

Countless projects, presentations, panels, tours, connections, and moments of growth. ✅ They showed up for Summer Training, worked hard, gained skills, and demonstrated they’re ready for what comes next, which is the exciting part. Summer Training may be over, but their journey is just beginning. 🚀

In the coming weeks, these Young Professionals will begin corporate internships––contributing to real teams and solving real problems—while they continue building the skills, relationships, and confidence that can shape the trajectory of their lives.

They're heading into year-long internships with more than new skills, they’re taking confidence, professional experience, industry knowledge, and a stronger understanding of what they’re capable of.

Genesys Works is excited to announce that we recently received a $2,500 Impact Grant from the Eden Prairie Community Foundation.

This funding will provide valuable skills training, hands-on counseling and coaching, and paid internships for 37 Eden Prairie high school and alumni members.

We are so grateful for our foundation partners like Eden Prairie Community Foundation who invest in building a stronger, better equipped, and more diverse business and technology workforce!

As the next cohort of Genesys Works interns begin the first days of their new internships, we wanted to celebrate the 35 outstanding corporate technology and business partners who are opening their doors to lasting impact. ✨
