Draft Day is almost here! 🎉

Nearly 200 young professionals have spent the summer building skills, growing their networks, and preparing for their internships. Now, they’re ready to take the stage and discover where their hard work will take them next.

One week until Draft Day! We're celebrating the end of Summer Training and the launch of the next generation of Young Professionals into the next phase: their corporate internships. 💫

Here's what we're celebrating and what students are taking with them from Summer Training:

- A paid, year-long internship with a Genesys Works corporate partner, where students will gain hands-on experience, build professional connections, and put their skills into action throughout their senior year.

- A new resume and portfolio showcasing skills developed during Summer Training, including AI literacy, Scrum team management, and proficiency in Outlook and Excel.

- Real-world exposure through company visits with Medtronic, Ecolab, Sun Country Airlines, and Microsoft, where students heard from employees and current interns and got to picture themselves in a corporate setting.

- Hands-on learning through workshops and panels, including Youth Frontiers Character Academy, Genesys Works Supervisor Panels, and Alumni Panels.

- Three college credits earned through the program.

We’re so excited to see our Young Professionals take what they’ve learned into their internships and continue building the skills and confidence to shape their futures. 💙🚀

On Aug. 20, our Class of 2027 Young Professionals will be matched with year-long internships with our 35 incredible corporate partners—the exciting next step in their journey.

Close to 1,000 members of the Genesys Works community—including students and their families, corporate partners, school champions, donors, volunteers, and community supporters—come together to celebrate the power of opportunity and the launch of the Class of 2027. 👏

Our partners are invited to join us for a morning of celebration, connection, and unforgettable first introductions as we welcome the next generation of talent into the workforce.

Welcome to Get Ready Week, where our Class of 2027 Young Professionals turn their focus to internship placement preparation, including workplace readiness, onboarding requirements, and final internship planning. Similarly, our partners are also preparing for the arrival of their new intern cohort. 👏

We are less than three weeks away from Draft Day where over 140 young professionals will be drafted into their year-long internships with our 35 corporate partners. Students will meet their company teams for the first time as they begin their journey from classroom to career. ✨

New partner alert! ✨ We are excited to share that Solventum Medical is launching seven internships with Genesys Works—an important and tangible investment that will open pathways to economic mobility for young professionals while simultaneously supporting Solventum’s ability to build an AI-literate, entry-level workforce.

This month, they've onboarded all seven internships in the following roles: AI and Automation Intern, Application Rationalization and Data Analysis Intern, Project Coordinator Intern, Project Finance and Operations Support Intern. 💡

We are deeply grateful for Solventum's partnership and for the leadership from Mike Hamill, Amy Landucci, Nikki Walsh, and the recently retired Yvonne Houle-Gillard. Thank you also to the following individuals who have stepped up as Genesys Works intern supervisors: Charles Collins (AI and Automation), Jim Pacella (Application Rationalization and Data Analysis), Joshua Baumann (Operations Support), Nick Hayashi (Project Coordinator), Susanne Eckert (Project Finance.)

Last week, our Tech Trainer Kelson shared how far our young professionals have come, from learning new technical skills to engaging confidently with the technology they'll use in the workplace. Every lesson is another step toward career readiness. 🚀
