We are Minnesota’s advocate and central resource for all Minnesotans seeking information on problem gambling. Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling (MNAPG), Minnesota affiliate to the National Council on Problem Gambling, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Minnesotans affected by problem gambling and gaming. MNAPG is a coalition of individuals and organizations shari

ng the belief that problem gambling is a serious public health problem that is both treatable and preventable. MNAPG works to raise public awareness about problem gambling and the stigma that’s often associated with it. We advocate for funding for treatment programs and provide professional training for those who work with problem gamblers.

You wouldn’t give your grad a cigar because you don’t want to encourage smoking.

The same goes for gifting scratch-offs and other gambling products. They’re illegal for minors and not a “safer alternative.” Betting as a teen can lead to risky behaviors later.

Are you a family member, partner or friend of someone with a gambling problem? Researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are looking for people to share their experiences as part of a national study on how gambling affects families and relationships.

Participation involves one online interview (45-90 minutes via Zoom) and is completely confidential. Eligible participants receive a $20 gift card as a thank-you for their time.

To qualify, you must be age 21 or older and able to complete an online interview in English.
