Since 1998, the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS) has been the hub of hope for families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), guiding and supporting families through the FASD journey. MOFAS is the leading voice and resource on FASD statewide, standing up for the rights of the FASD community, providing education and training so FASD is better understood and working to ensure that all women know that there is no safe level of alcohol during pregnancy.

High school teens with a known or possible FASD are invited to a fun, supportive space to connect, build skills and gain confidence.

The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) recently released an article by Des Ellis and Shawn Johnson that focuses on LGBTQ+ youth representation in foster care. The author states, "as foster and adoptive parents, we believe one of the most important things we can provide any child is the ability to feel accepted without conditions."

Children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are highly overrepresented in the
child welfare system, including foster care and out-of-home placement.

During Pride Month (and every month), we must ensure that youth feel valued and appreciated, and are able to access care that is accessible and affirming.
