Thank you to our long-time partner, the Northern Clay Center, for collaborating with the Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) program to bring clay sculpting into the classroom. NCC artists brought clay work to two of our school sites for the 2025-26 school year!

As a part of our core values, WISE seeks to utilize various artistic platforms as spaces for self-expression, creativity, and self-care. We love seeing the creations that come from these experiences!

Last week we had youth from Hmong College Prep Academy share their thoughts on healthy relationships and safety. We had over 200 youth submit a response! Flip through our gallery to read a few of their encouraging messages.

These responses were collected as a part of a collaboration between WISE, Hmong College Prep Academy and Transforming Generations to bring trauma-informed and culturally-informed violence prevention strategies to the HCPA school community.

And that’s a wrap for the Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) program at Columbia Academy for the 2025-26 school year! We had a fun last day bedazzling sunglasses and karaokeing our hearts out 🕶️🎤🎵

Thank you to Columbia Academy for partnering with us to provide free after school programming for immigrant and refugee girls and female-identifying youth.

To all our youth — have an amazing summer and we will see you again in the fall!

Some of our favorite moments from the Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) program come from when we simply have space to gather, create, and share what's on our minds. The result? Laughter, understanding, trust, and a bond among our youth that only strengthens over time.

WISE's Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) program youth had the honor of participating in StoryArk's 2025-26 Hub Residency at the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub — Envisioning Our Liberation: Youth Forums for Advocacy, Kinship, and Storytelling.

For nearly a year, our youth connected with participants from other programs, schools, and organizations to network, discuss challenges in their community, engage in action-planning, and use artistic platforms to address social justice issues. Their cohort recently held a celebration showcasing their projects!
