Swamp Haven

Swamp Haven Swamp Haven Rescue is an advocate for underprivileged dogs that are in search of their forever homes. We teach them how to walk politely on a leash.

Our mission is to save innocent, death row dogs, plain and simple. You know the ones: the sad, hopeless, "throw away" dogs who are overlooked by society...Like the black pit bull abandoned on the side of the highway with her puppies, or the bloated coonhound suffering from late stage heartworm disease, or the terrified senior who lived his whole life at the end of a chain before he was saved. Not

only do we take these dogs in and pay for all their vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/flea prevention) to get their health back in balance: We meet with our dog trainer for basic training. We take them to doggy daycare so they learn how to play in a pack. We work on crate and potty training. We teach them how to live in a home. Most importantly, we teach them how to love and how to receive the love they deserve! We are a 501c3 non profit and we survive entirely on donations. When you support Swamp Haven you're contributing to another life being saved from euthanasia, another injury treated, another warm bed for the neglected, another training session for the frightened, another dose of life-saving preventative medication, and most of all, you're sharing YOUR love even if you're not able to take a pet into your own home. We cannot continue to save these dogs without the support of people like you: People who are willing to fight for all of the forgotten souls patiently sitting in cages waiting for someone to notice them...waiting for someone to recognize they're worth saving.

1000 puppy kisses and $1000 later - our TexMex Yoga Workshop with Root to Rise Power Yoga was a tail wagging success 🎉 These tiny lives could have ended before they even truly began and to watch these girls bring so much joy to a room full of people that came out just to meet them? Absolutely priceless 😭 We are constantly filled with so much gratitude and awe for the support our community showers us with, thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it! 🥹🥰

Robin Egg is enjoying life in her foster home. She loves playing tug of war, her sprinkler pad, puzzle toys, and sprawling out lonnggggg style in all the comfy places she can around the house.

Are you looking for a gal to cheer you on and celebrate all the tiny wins in life??? Look no more! Robin’s foster calls her the best hype girl around. She is always ready to party and bring a bit of pizazz to your day. While Rob is always ready for an adventure she equally loves to relax and lean her weight on you and take in all the pets. You can tell how genuinely she loves the attention, and she makes you feel like the most special person in the world for giving it to her.

Robin is looking to be the only dog, and is good with dog savvy cats. She is crate and house trained and knows a ton of commands she learned at . Robin is easily excitable - in the goofiest, silliest way- and she would prefer a home that runs on the calmer side so she can just vibe. 😎

Robin has until the end of September to find an adopter or a new foster or she will be back in boarding. She is anxious in boarding and she is finally decompressing and realigning back into home life. Our goal is to keep it that way. Please share Rob far and wide, let’s find this gal her person!

After a month in limbo as a result of an active cruelty case, a week of trying to find placement for them, and a very smelly transport ride (💩🤢), the Tex Mex babies have ARRIVED 🌮 And even better, they’ve all been to the vet and dropped off at their foster homes already 🙌🏻 It truly takes a village and we are so thankful for ours.

We can already tell that these babies are full of so much personality and spice, and they will soon be ready to share it with their forever families! We’ve got our two boys: Guacamole 🥑 (the biggest in the litter, weighing in at 17 pounds whereas his siblings are all between 10-12 🤣), Burrito 🌯, and then our girls: Tortilla 🫓, Queso 🧀, Salsa 🍅 (our smallest Chiquita), Chimichanga 🌯, and Tamale 🫔!

We can confirm they are all cute enough to eat!!! Stay tuned for more on the Tex Mex crew, and check out our story for the serotonin boost we all need 🥰

Peggy Sue, now Hazel, is living her happiest adopted life. Months ago Hazel went to her foster home where we learned she was a great travel companion, was a shockingly good swimmer, and she even got known around the neighborhood on the occasional instance her hound nose got her into trouble and she found herself face first in a neighbor cats food bowl. 🤣

We were so grateful at how happily her foster family involved her in all the things, and as time went on the depth at which Hazel integrated herself into her foster’s home started to really show. Hazel was there for holidays, a move, the passing of two furry siblings, the introduction of a new furry sibling, and lots of traveling and exploring in between.

Life is so full of change, and yet Hazel and the comfort she brought to her family remained constant over and over. It was a very easy decision for Hazel’s foster family to make her an official part of the family, and we are so pleased for the special role she has played in her families life. Hazel needed her family, and her family needed her.

Happy forever special gal. ♥️

When you stop by the emergency vet that saved your life to show them how amazing you’re doing 💃🏻

Kiara had a full circle moment yesterday and we’re totally not crying about it. Nope. Not one bit. 🥹 Kiara has been with us for a month now, the first week of which we didn’t know if she was going to make it. Truthfully the second week too. Tori and I would cautiously tell each other “I think she’s actually going to make it” for weeks because we couldn’t bear to be wrong. So many people have followed her journey and checked in to see how she’s doing, including the vet that spent five very long days trying to do all that she could to keep Kiara alive. To us, those five days felt like forever. To Dr. Apolo and her team, those were just normal days at work. We can’t even imagine the amount of sick animals they see, so to have her check in time and time again to see how Kiara was doing after she was discharged meant the world to us. This little girl touched so many lives and she doesn’t even know it!

People thank us all the time for saving lives, none of which would be possible without each and every single one of you. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it 🙏🏻 But this time we’re extending that massive thank you to Dr. Apolo, her team, and everyone at Capital Veterinary Specialists - Jacksonville because if wasn’t for them, Kiara quite literally wouldn’t be alive and wouldn’t be thriving on her home visit with what we hope will soon be her ✨forever family✨ It truly takes a village and we are just so lucky that ours is so spectacular 😭

Adopt happiness, friends. We promise it’ll be the best decision you ever make 💖

Edith has been thriving in her foster home and as if we didn’t think she was cute as could be already she is just positively glowing these days.

Edith is a go with the flow kinda gal who moves at her own pace. She loves a leisurely walk where she can take in all the sights and smells, a good nap where she is usually sprawled out, head (and ears) hanging off the bed, and her new fave hobby is a good snuffle mat session.

Edith may be all things chill, but she is also stubborn and opinionated (most opinions revolve around food 🤣) in only a way an old lady hound can be, and she sure makes it cute. She does get a wild zoomie prance here and there, especially around meal times. She will stomp about and throw her head back with a big unlady like houndy bark when foster parents are taking their sweet time getting her food ready. 🤣

Her foster family jokes for a senior she is like a little baby. Takes her naps and when she wakes up must find something to stick her nose into, and then when she has has her fill it’s nap time again!

Edith is house and crate trained. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is roughly 10 years old and 48lbs. She is healthy and happy - just a little deaf - but hey, we think that adds to her easy breezy carefree attitude. 😎

Adopt a senior. Adopt Edith. Adopt happiness. 💗
