Today we discussed the following during our Good Trouble meeting:
Billionaires are buying our elections and our government. Our tax dollars are being spent to build out a surveillance state against us.  And those we’ve elected to represent us are part of the feedback loop of money and power.
We need to remind congress members that they work for the American people.
 
We demand that our members of Congress:
1.Take the pledge to :publicly reject palantir contracts and cut all ties with the company.
2. Reject all donations from palantir executives and billionaire-backed special interests groups.
3. Take concrete steps to end Palantir’s role in federal immigration enforcement and surveillance.
4. Stand with immigrant communities: reject the systems, corporations, and political interests that profit from their surveillance, detention, and fear.

American Doctor is a 2026 documentary film directed by Poh Si Teng. The film follows three American physicians of diverse backgrounds who travel to Gaza to provide medical aid during the conflict.
It premiered in the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2026, and was released in the United States on August 14, 2026, by Watermelon Pictures.
We are grateful to be able to show and share this important film to our neighbors. Donations will be collected and support of The Sameer Project

What a beautiful celebration of Compassionate Saint Augustine’s 13th Anniversary!

We were honored to welcome our Mayor-elect, community partners & leaders, people of diverse faiths and backgrounds, and neighbors united by a shared commitment to building a more compassionate community. A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Kristin Keen of Rethreaded, for sharing the inspiring work of restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity to survivors of human trafficking.

For more than a decade, Compassionate Saint Augustine has been bringing people together across differences, not to erase them, but to build relationships through them. We believe compassion has a way of turning walls into doors, creating possibilities where division once stood.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, partnered, and helped make this celebration so meaningful. Together, we are writing the next chapter of compassion in our community.

Dear Compassionate friends,

The Compassionate St. Augustine anniversary party is at Grace Methodist this Saturday- doors open at 1:30! The formal program will run from 2-4. Compassionate St. Augustine is excited to recognize and recall 13 years as a proclaimed compassionate city and envision the next 13+ with you! We have quite a program, celebrating our history and present, with a keynote presentation by Kristin Keen, the Founder and CEO of ReThreaded, our most recent compassionate connection.

ReThreaded will also have a pop up shop of their amazing wares, which will open at 1:30 for a chance to shop before our program begins at 2:00.

Also, we are planning to display a number of awards and accomplishments achieved over the first 13 years, and a visioning board to inspire the next 13+. I hope you’re able to join us at Grace on the 10th.

Altrusa International Inc. - a group dedicated to donating school supplies, backpacks m, and books to children living at the homeless coalition of St. John’s county.
