Her heart and passion for young adults come through in everything she does. She is always dreaming up new ways to help our community's young adults thrive. Because of her vision, courage, and commitment, we all get to see her dream of empowering young adults come true. We are so blessed by Annette's life and her love for others.

🎤🎨 Young adults, the next THREE Wednesdays at Narratives QC are all about EXPRESSing yourself!

Whether you’re finding your voice through poetry or turning everyday objects into art, there’s room for YOUR creativity here.

🎤 Tomorrow, October 28: Join the one and only Chris Britton for Narrate! Explore spoken word poetry, put your thoughts into words, and discover the power of your story.

🎨 November 4: Morgan from The RatTrap joins us to make art from everyday things, including trash! Bring your imagination and see what you can create.

🎤 November 11: Chris is BACK for another spoken word poetry workshop! Join us for the first time or keep building on what you started.

No writing experience or artistic talent needed. Just show up, try something new, and connect with a community that welcomes you as you are. 💛

Sometimes, a night out becomes a chance to slow down, see something differently, and connect with one another.

Thank you to the Figge Art Museum, Laura, and the museum’s terrific staff for a fabulous evening with our Narratives QC young adults!

During our private tour, we explored the intersection of art and mental health. We shared what we noticed, how the paintings made us feel, and what the artists might have felt or hoped to express. Each person brought a different perspective, making our conversations even more meaningful.

It was an incredible opportunity to be still, become more aware of the world around us, and build community through a shared experience.

Thank you, for making our crew feel so welcome and creating space for curiosity, reflection, and connection. We loved it so much that we’re already planning our next visit together!

Congratulations to SAL – Skip-A-Long on today’s ribbon cutting for your beautiful new building! Narratives QC staff were honored to join in the celebration and share in this exciting milestone.

Thank you for all you do to help children and families in our community thrive. We love serving Rock Island and the surrounding area alongside organizations that care so deeply about the people who call this community home.

Young adults (ages 17-29) don't forget to join us tonight for an evening at the Figge Art Museum. Come explore the museum with us and build your community making great friends. We are meeting in the lobby at 6p for our guided tour. We would ❤️ to see you there.

Every night when we leave our building in downtown Rock Island, we get a beautiful view across the river: the Figge Art Museum lighting up the night with its ever-changing colors. Now, we’re heading inside to explore the creativity within!

Young adults ages 17–29, join Narratives QC on Thursday, October 22, from 6–8 p.m. for a FREE docent-led tour of the Figge Art Museum. Together, we’ll explore art in our community and the connections between art, mental health, and well-being.

Art can help us express feelings, discover new perspectives, and connect with someone else’s story. And exploring it together gives us a chance to connect with one another, too.

Love art? This night is for you. Not sure art is your thing? Come try something new and spend an evening with some of the greatest young adults in our community. No art knowledge needed, just a little curiosity!

Please join us in welcoming Vikki Huisman to the Narratives QC Board of Directors as our Board Secretary!

A Quad Cities native, Vikki brings decades of experience supporting leaders in nonprofit and corporate settings as a seasoned executive assistant. She currently works at John Deere and holds a communications degree from Colorado Christian University. Her career has been grounded in organization, connection, and helping people thrive, qualities we are excited to welcome to our board.

Married for more than 30 years and mom to three grown sons, Vikki brings both experience and heart to our mission. She is excited to support young adults as they find their footing and build meaningful lives.

At Narratives QC, strong leadership helps us create more opportunities for young adults to find support, build confidence, and experience belonging. We are grateful to have Vikki sharing her expertise and investing in the next chapter of our work.
