So many thanks are in order for local financial services firm Sage Rutty & Company, Inc. for their extremely generous donation to the Rochester Police Foundation. It truly helped our organization in our efforts to fund the annual City of Rochester Police Department Shop With A Cop, Toy Drive, and Adopt-A-Family programs. We want to express sincere gratitude to true business leaders like Sage Rutty for stepping up huge to make sure many local families in our community had a special holiday. Thank you!

One of the two remaining officers hospitalized has been released and walked out on his own, surrounded by law enforcement and fellow first responders. We are thankful for his recovery and continue to keep the other injured officer, families, and first responders in our thoughts.

Just days before Christmas — a time meant for family, warmth, and togetherness — three Rochester Police Officers were shot while protecting our community.

They responded to a call for help, doing what they have sworn to do: run toward danger so others don’t have to. In a matter of moments, their lives — and the lives of their families — were changed forever.

One officer has since been treated and released from the hospital. Two others are still fighting through recovery after undergoing multiple surgeries. These are not just officers — they are sons, daughters, partners, parents, and friends. They are members of our Rochester family.

During this critical time, we are deeply grateful to Dr. Mark Gestring, Honorary Board Member of the Rochester Police Foundation, who has been directly involved in performing life-saving surgeries for the injured officers. His commitment reflects the strength of a community that stands together when it matters most.

The holidays should be filled with joy. For these officers and their families, they are filled with hospital rooms, uncertainty, and long roads to recovery. This is where our community can make a difference.

Once again, we're thrilled to have the support of Wethehobby here in City of Rochester, NY, as they will be graciously livestreaming the Rochester NY Police Department and their annual Shop With A Cop holiday event at the Hudson Avenue Walmart.

This great event will be held this Thursday the 18th, from 5p - 8p (livestream schedule may differ), during which Rochester youth join our first responders to holiday shop for their families.

As we look toward our annual Blue & Gold Gala fundraiser event on Friday, October 18th, we want to to extend a huge thank you to one of our major supporters this year, Wethehobby!
