Muskie's eat far fewer walleyes than people think. In a Wisconsin study that examined the food habits of 1,092 muskies from 34 lakes, only five walleyes were found in stomachs. Rather, yellow perch made up 30 percent of the total number of prey consumed by muskies, while catostomids (suckers) made up 47 percent of their total food, by volume.

8/17 - The Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Management Alliance is holding an informational meeting at 5:00 pm Tuesday 8/18 at the Casino restaurant in Bemus. We need some fishermen, guides, and people who spend a lot of time on the lake to attend.

Spring 2026 Chautauqua Tournament has wrapped!

Congratulations to Jesse, Brandon and Mark for hauling in 1st place AND Big Fish with their beautiful 48!!!
Zach and ‘Doc’ pulled in 2nd place and a VERY close third for Brandon, Gavin and Joe!

It was definitely a day that required putting in work with our recent weird weather patterns but over 3 dozen anglers showed up for the job and were able to haul in some beautiful fish!

A big thank you to Chautauqua Reel Outdoors Guide & Tackle for hosting us for our cookout, awards and donation/raffle table!

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported and chose to grind it out!
