Girls Rock! Rochester

10/18/2026

Always dreamed of being in a rock band? Up for a challenge, seeking personal growth? Now is YOUR TIME to rise n' SHINE!

What is Rock Roulette?

Rock Roulette brings the magic of our rock camps to adults. Those who register are placed into bands based on their instrument, and are given 14 weeks of band coaching on how to prepare for the stage, learn their instrument/take on the challenge of learning a new instrument, put together a three song set including two original songs and one cover. At the end of 14 weeks each band will compete to raise the most money for our organization, and will perform their three song set on the main stage at Iron Smoke Distillery in front of a packed, live audience.

What is the Kick-off Party/ what will this entail?

The kick-off is the first meeting in which all who register for our program initially meet in person, and find out who is in their band. Each band member is handed an information packet, a schedule and helpful songwriting tips, and will engage in activities that'll break the ice, and initiate brainstorming for a band name. This is also an opportunity for new bandmates to organize a rehearsal schedule and location.

Our Rock Roulette kick-off will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2027 from 6:00-9:00pm at Village Gate-Headquarters! MARK YOUR CALENDARS! This gathering is mandatory in order to participate!

The FINAL fundraiser SHOWCASE~
Saturday, May 1st, 2027 at Iron Smoke Distillery!!
Doors will open at 1PM and the show will run 1:30- 3:30PM.

We invite individuals who identify as women, trans, non-binary or members of the LGBTQ community to sign up.* We welcome and greatly value individuals of any gender identity to participate in more indirect ways. (i.e. band promoter, door person, event volunteer, sponsor liaison, stage team, etc.)

A small clip from the sweetest q***r panel today with Bennie, Madelyn, and Eileen!

They shared their journeys, talked about the joy of being q***r and being unapologetically yourself, and reminded our campers just how much love and support exists within the LGBTQIA+ community. We are incredibly grateful for the honesty and magic they brought to the room! 🌈 🫶💕

TAG, YOU’RE IT, INDIANAPOLIS!

Girls Rock! Pride Rock Rochester is sending all the love to our friends at Girls Rock! Indianapolis as they kick off another incredible camp week!

As proud members of the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, we’re part of a global movement of organizations using music as a tool for empowerment, confidence, creativity, and community. Together, we’re working to change the soundscape by creating spaces where girls, trans, and LGBTQIA+ youth can discover their voices, take up space, and shape the future of music.

Today we’re launching a game of **Virtual GRCA Tag** to celebrate our sibling organizations around the world as they pour their hearts into camp season. To every volunteer, staff member, mentor, and camper: we see you, we believe in your work, and we’re cheering you on every step of the way.

Girls Rock! Indianapolis... TAG, YOU’RE IT! Keep the love moving by tagging another Girls Rock Camp Alliance organization and sending them some encouragement as they continue changing lives through the power of music and community.

Together, we’re louder. Together, we’re stronger. Together, we’re building a more equitable future—one camp, one song, and one young person at a time.
