Daffodil Project Roc Spreading the joy of the Spring flower symbolizing
rebirth, new beginnings and joyful life.

501(c)(3) 39-4772622

Daffodil flowers begin to pop up when the dark days of winter end. They're a symbol of spring; representing rebirth, new beginnings, and a joyful life affirming presence. Peace and rest found in a bright and joyful yellow color, simple in its beauty. Inspired by The Friends of Mount Hope, The Daffodil Project at Mount Hope Cemetery is a separate charitable organization created in 2022 to continue

spreading the joy of the Spring flower. In 2020 work began to restore one of Mount Hopes famous ‘kettles’, bringing its topography back to the original 1840 design. With the kettle’s restoration completed, future projects include the addition of benches and stair railings and the continued planting of ground covers, flowering trees and rhododendrons. With the help of volunteers over 20,000 daffodil bulbs have already been planted. Future plantings in new areas of the cemetery are being identified and planned. In your enjoyment of the golden Spring display, please consider becoming a part of the Daffodil Project at Mount Hope by giving a charitable donation to support our mission.

May the Fourth be with you, from the Daffodil Project at Mount Hope. When the flowers started blooming in mid-March, we did not expect to see this much yellow in May!

Was wonderful to see so many people show up on Sunday for Daffodil Days 2026 - Fourth Annual. We had an alphorn player, bagpipes and so much more. A big shout out to Phi Kappa Psi - New York Theta Chapter a social fraternity at Rochester Institute of Technology. They cleared out a large amount of invasive shrubs and created a new path up on the hill. Their volunteer help was greatly appreciated. They live up to their mission: "We all aim to mold better men and improve our community through philanthropic endeavors." They sure have helped at Mount Hope Cemetery - Rochester Daffodil Project Roc!

Guess what? We’ve planted a whopping 13,300 daffodils in 2025! And that’s not all - after The Garden Factory generous donation of 4,000 new bulbs, we’ve now have a grand total of 17,300 daffodils in 2025. That’s makes a whopping 75,300 bulbs in total!

And here’s the best part: many of the bulbs that have been planted over the past years have multiplied, making our garden even more vibrant.

Come and check out all the new landscaping, path-making and other blooming plants anytime during the year. The don’t miss out on the beautiful blooms that will fill our garden especially in the spring!
