Congratulations to all of the participants in our spring EmpowHer Expressions program who gave speeches to the group last week as part of their final class. We are so proud of them and impressed by their growth. We can’t wait to see what they do with these public speaking skills.

We were honored to receive the Directors’ Award from the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA) last night.

The Directors’ Award recognizes a person or organization whose work enhances the lives of women, and it means so much to see the work of Disability EmpowHer Network and the disabled girls and women we serve recognized in this way.

Our CEO Stephanie Woodward attended alongside Empowered Futures Coordinator Danielle Bentley and two of our young leaders, Mia Howie and Red Shumaker, who help coordinate our EmpowHer Roc and Roc+ programs.

We also want to recognize the leadership of GRAWA throughout the evening. Their willingness to listen, respond thoughtfully, and embrace opportunities to improve accessibility reflected the kind of leadership that creates meaningful progress and makes people feel genuinely respected and valued.

We are grateful for the honor and for leaders committed to continuing to learn and grow alongside our community.
