: Back in July, we gathered some of our multi-year partners to celebrate year two of our five-year partnership with them at our Summer Social gathering.

We were glad to see familiar faces and help partners (re)connect with colleagues, build new relationships with people they had not yet met, and learn about issues influencing their work. Thank you to all of our partners who joined us! 🫶

Back-to-school season is here, and our partners are here to help your family get ready for the new school year. 🍎

This month, our grantee partners are hosting back-to-school events across our service region — bringing together resources, fun, and community for families heading back to school soon.

Chicago’s top museums and cultural institutions are coming to the West Side for 'Night at the Museum'! Join us for an evening featuring interactive experiences from the The Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, and Sistema Ravinia, along with hands-on activities, games, crafts, and fun for the whole family. This Thursday at BUILD!

While nothing has changed yet, new Medicaid rules are coming later this year. Not every member will be impacted, but you may have to renew your Medicaid twice a year and prove that you work, go to school, or volunteer.

Tomorrow, June 30th, get in-person help to stay enrolled and update your information at the CountyCare Redetermination Event at Lawndale Christian Health Center.

Our partner, Arab American Family Services (AAFS), is hosting a one-day Arab American/MENA Mental Health Conference for clinicians, healthcare leaders, educators, administrators, researchers, innovators, and community advocates to explore culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches to mental health and wellness within Arab American/MENA communities.

This month, we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) on its 25th anniversary. For 25 years, SAAM has united survivors, advocates, and communities in the shared commitment to end sexual assault, abuse, and harassment—we are proud to stand with them.

This month, our partner, Mujeres Latinas en Accion, is hosting several events to recognize SAAM. You can join them this Friday, April 24th, for Take Back the Night: a community space for survivors of sexual violence and allies to share their stories, raise awareness, and participate in a collective healing process.

This year marks the 9th Annual Black Maternal Health Week, starting on April 11th.

Each year, this week celebrates the leadership and expertise of Black community-based organizations as the foundation for advancing equity and ensuring transformative, sustainable improvements in Black Maternal Health.

On Saturday, April 11th, join community partners, including HCF partner Equal Hope, at the Black Maternal Health Week Community Shower for pregnant people, postpartum parents, and West Side families. See more info ⤵️

If you’re pregnant or postpartum, this free Black Maternal Health Week Community Shower is honestly worth stopping by. Even though the event is sold out, our partners are still welcoming walk‑ins, so you can absolutely come through.

There’ll be baby supplies, health resources, and community organizations ready to support families on the West Side.
