Riverside Friends of the Library The Riverside Friends of the Library work to support the Riverside Public Library through fundraising, program sponsorship, and volunteering.

The Riverside Friends of the Library continue to collaborate with the Riverside Public Library and the community's needs for the Library. Through the years, thousands of Riverside children and adults have benefited from the ambitious undertakings the Friends have accomplished. Since 1931, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised; hundreds of events and programs have been sponsored by the

Friends; and countless hours of hard work have been donated by Friends volunteers. With the direction of libraries changing and evolving; the focus of the Friends group has the opportunity to do the same and guide the course and create new focus and plans. Attendance and program statistics show that this building is loved; informational needs are celebrated less in the pages of a book and more in sharing knowledge through programs and events. The Library has become a meeting space, a community center and the place to share experiences, celebrations as well as information. We hope you will consider becoming a Friend. Join the list of volunteers and leaders who have over the years supported the Library. The Friends will always continue their support of the RPL and need your help!

Interested in getting involved with the Friends of the Library? We’re having a casual meeting this Thursday, May 7, 7-8:30 pm at the library in the Friends of the Library Terrace.

We want to share some of the upcoming volunteer opportunities, thank our volunteers, and discuss ways to support our library. The library is the center of our community, and we'll talk about ways the Friends can make connections.

It is time to celebrate the new babies in the village. Did you or a neighbor welcome a new baby?? We want to hear about it and celebrate their arrival! The Riverside Friends of the Library has donated baby books in honor of newborns in the village since 1989. To date we have donated close to 2,000 books to the library in honor of these little Riversiders.

How does it work? It is simple. Head into the Youth Services desk at the Riverside Public Library and tell them the great news about the new baby in town, or, do it from home using this link:
