We had an opportunity to donate $15,000 to the Fisher House at Hines VA Hospital. The House Managers and staff at the Fisher House at Hines VA are great, they gave us an incredible tour of the house and shared some incredible stories.

Fisher House recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women who served in the uniform by meeting a humanitarian need beyond the normally provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs or any other hospital.

Veterans and their families often must travel long distances to receive specialized medical care. This frequently leaves their families in need of a temporary housing in the area.

Te Fisher house foundation donates “comfort homes”; built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.

The mission of the Veterans of Foreign War is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.

Today we were given an opportunity to take a tour around Shriners Hospital of Chicago. We also donated $15,000 towards their cause.

No more waiting hours to be seen in the ER or waiting a month to get into your Drs office
Per the Mission Act as of June 2019. Veterans eligible for VA benefits can now go to contracted Urgent Care centers in the community for non emergency care.
YOU SHOULD NEVER PAY THE URGENT CARE CENTERS AT THE TIME OF THE VISIT.

VA will pay for prescriptions resulting from your urgent care visit. The urgent care provider may write a medically necessary prescription for up to a 14-day supply. Veterans will be able to fill their prescription at any in-network pharmacy with Express Scripts. Usually a Walgreens.
VERY IMPORTANT:
There are 3 pieces of paper you will need to take with you to the Urgent Care Center. Hit the link below and print them.

#1 is for the urgent care center doctor so they can bill the VA.
#2 is for the contracted pharmacy (again usually a Walgreens) to bill the VA for any prescriptions you need from that visit.

GREAT NEWS!!! Thanks to a new partnership, Warriors Beyond War will be expanding it's therapeutic dance program to the Southwest side of the city at the North Riverside VFW! If you live or travel near the Hines VA Hospital, Brookfield Zoo or anywhere near North Riverside, Illinois, these classes will be right around the corner from you.
