We are dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs from animal control and public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding and overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse

or neglect by providing them with temporary shelter for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes.

🚨 URGENT SUPPLIES NEEDED — PARVO PUPPY IN OUR CARE 🚨
Rescue doesn’t always give you time to prepare. 💔

Last night, we picked up a puppy from the emergency vet who tested positive for PARVO. Her family was unable/unwilling to take on the extremely high cost of treatment, and we couldn’t leave this little one without a chance. 🐾❤️

Now we need YOUR help.
With a parvo puppy in our care, we are going through disposable supplies FAST — and our shelves are already running very low.

🧤 We urgently need disposable supplies, including:
• Puppy pads
• Disposable gloves
• Paper towels
• Trash bags
• Disinfecting/cleaning supplies
• Disposable gowns
• Bleach
• Other single-use supplies needed for isolation and cleanup

Parvo requires strict isolation and constant cleaning, which means we can go through an unbelievable amount of supplies in just one day.

💰 We also desperately need financial donations to help cover her veterinary care and treatment. Parvo treatment can become very expensive very quickly, but this puppy deserves the opportunity to fight.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Meet Frank (blue/white) & George (white). These two pittie brothers came to us with terrible skin issues! After some antibiotics and several medicated baths, they are now moving in the right direction. Pups are about 11 weeks old and ready to start looking for their new permanent homes. They are still learning that hands are friends, and not chew toys. So they need a family with some patience, that is willing to continue to work on their puppy manners. They have both done great with other dogs. They are doing extremely well with potty training and each sleep in their own crate at night, with very limited protest. Both feats are very impressive at this young of age!

George's hearing status is a bit of a mystery. He doesn't consistently respond to sounds, so we are exploring the possibility that he may have some hearing loss.

UPDATE 🐾🍼Our bottle baby EVIE is getting so big! She's 3.5 weeks old, has gone from 0.48 to 2.98 lbs, eyes open 👀, and top teeth are starting to come in!! Next week we will introduce her to "mash" (aka puppy food soaked for hours) She still has a long way to go before she's ready for adoption. Any support towards her continued care is greatly appreciated ❤️

🐾 What a FUN day with Genworth !! 🐾

A huge THANK YOU to Genworth for inviting Richmond Ruff House out for a day filled with wagging tails, puppy kisses, and lots of smiles! ❤️🐶

Our adoptable pups had an absolute blast meeting everyone, soaking up all the attention, and showing off just how lovable they are. And we have some VERY exciting news…

🎉 THREE of our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies now have PENDING ADOPTIONS! 🎉

Apparently, bringing adorable puppies to work is a very effective adoption strategy. 😂🐾

We had such a great time and are incredibly grateful to Genworth and everyone who stopped by to meet the dogs, give them some love, and learn more about Richmond Ruff House.

Days like this are what rescue is all about — connecting great dogs with great people and having a whole lot of fun along the way! ❤️

🐾 HOW is Garbanzo still looking for his forever home?! 🐾

At 7 months old, Garbanzo is a Shepherd/GSD mix with a BIG personality, a goofy streak, and a brain that might honestly be smarter than some of us. 😂 Maybe it's because he always seems to have grumpy face in his photos 🤦‍♀️

This handsome guy is:

🐕 Dog friendly — he loves having canine friends to play with
🎾 Playful & goofy — entertainment is basically included with adoption
🧠 Ridiculously smart — Garbanzo picks up new tricks incredibly quickly and loves to learn
👀 A little shy with new people — he may need a minute to decide you're worthy of his friendship
❤️ Independent — he's not a huge snuggler, but who needs a lap dog when you can have a hilarious roommate?

Garbanzo just needs someone willing to give him a little patience while he builds confidence. Once he's comfortable, his silly personality comes shining through.

He's already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines — all he's missing is a family to call his own. 🏡

Good morning, this little guy needs temporary or permanent home. He is six months old was dropped at a shelter way out in south West Virginia. He’s so cute. We named him Cletus. He doesn’t deserve to be at a cage or in a shelter. He is now staying with us. The problem is our families’s dogs are too big for him. He’s a Lowrider.

🍼🐾 URGENT: Our Tiniest Rescue Needs Your Help! 🐾🍼
Got a text yesterday if we could bottle feed. A 6 day old puppy was in distress. Mom seemed to be unable to feed her baby (no other puppies were found). She was lethargic and cold. Of course we said YES! That means this little girl now needs to be bottle-fed around the clock to give her the best chance to grow big and strong. 💪

She will need frequent feedings, warmth, monitoring, and a whole lot of love. Thankfully, the love part is already covered. ❤️ Now we just need some help with the rest!
