Panther Family,
It is deeply unfortunate that our University has experienced another troubling incident on campus. Yet even in moments such as these, my faith remains steadfast. More than ever, this is a time for us to unite, stand together, and fervently pray for our beloved Alma Mater.
The Word of God reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7:
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
As believers, we will not be driven by fear, anxiety, or uncertainty. Instead, we will walk boldly in the power, love, and sound judgment that God has given us. We recognize that challenges may arise, but we also know that God remains sovereign, faithful, and present in every circumstance.
Today, I extend a heartfelt invitation to each of you to join us for worship as we gather in unity. Let us come together to hear a powerful word from the Lord and collectively pray for our students, administration, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the University.
Now is not the time to retreat. Now is the time to draw closer to God and to one another. Come and hear what the Lord is saying to His people. Join us as we seek God's protection, peace, healing, and guidance, and as we stand in faith believing that no weapon formed against our community shall prosper.
Let us gather in strength, worship in faith, and pray with expectation as we declare God's presence, power, and victory over our University.
In Panther Pride and Prayer,
Dr. Elise Green-Scott, VUUNAA President
