Huge congratulations goes out to 11-year-old Rowdy Rapid, Tyler McDaniel, who broke the Ashland Barracudas 50 backstroke record and tied the 50 freestyle record. Tyler worked his tail off this season with Coach Ashley and the Age Groupers, making himself one of the fastest swimmers in the state, even at a young age.

Congratulations on your club records and keep up the great work! Rise Up!!

Last night we celebrated 9 of our graduating senior swimmers with our first ever college signing ceremony! Swimmers in attendance included:

Promise made, promise kept! Coach Ashley offered any swimmer who won Age Group Champs the opportunity to push her in the pool. Well, needless to say, she got wet a lot of times after the dominating meet the SwimRVA 10 & unders had. One of those moments was captured as Shae Spradling gave Coach Ashley a nice dip in the pool. Great work Shae, Coach Ashley and all our Rapids who swam great at Age Group Champs!

New qualifiers alert! This past weekend, Zack, Caleb, Charlie D., and Charlie B. all qualified for the 2026 Futures Championship set to take place in Greensboro in July. Way to go Rapids!! 👏👏

🚨 Summer Junior Nationals Qualifier 🚨

After narrowly missing her Summer Junior National qualifying time in the 50 backstroke by mere hundredths of a second multiple times, Kylee Crotts has officially done it! Her 1:04.22 in the 100m backstroke makes her the fourth SwimRVA athlete to join this elite group that will be heading to Irvine, California this summer. Congratulations on all of the hard work you have put in to making this a reality! 👏💙

SwimRVA is sitting in 4th after one day of racing at Super Sectionals! Let’s keep it going all weekend long. We’ve already had new team records, new Futures qualifier, and only 0.08 off our 4th Summer Juniors swimmer. Keep up the great work and awesome enthusiasm Rapids!
