April 3, 2026

The members of the Maryland Professional Staff Association (MDPSA) stand behind our union siblings in Indiana as they fight back against the worst kind of union-busting. We call on the Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) to reinstate Indiana State Professional Organization (ISPO) leaders Rick Scaif and Anita Vernon immediately, grant them any restitution owed, and rescind any threat of termination hanging over them for their lawfully protect union activity. Our members will do whatever is asked to help defend our siblings.

ISTA must act out the values that IPSO members demonstrate daily on behalf of ISTA’s members. We call on ISTA leadership to do the right thing without delay.

In solidarity.

PSA family: Please wear blue tomorrow and stand with our Minnesota union siblings fighting to keep ICE away from schools. Post selfies here in solidarity

Wear blue tomorrow, January 23, as a visible sign that we stand together—across state lines and across communities—in support of safe, welcoming public schools where children can learn without fear.

Check out this video from our incredibly talented PSA siblings in the Comms Team (Chris, Noreth, Patti, Gabrielle, and Casey). They work hard every day to highlight and celebrate the work of MSEA educators. This makes us all want to sit under the stars!

It is with sadness that PSA shares news of the passing of one our longtime members and leaders, Marius Ambrose. Marius served as a staff member with MSEA for decades and was a leader in our national staff union,

NSO. Rest in power, friend.

Marius Ambrose, 85, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. He died peacefully, surrounded by the love and comfort of his wife, Janet, and daughters, Karen and Lizzie, after a brief battle with...

PSA members spent 3 days away and taught 222 MSEA members how to organize, build power, create strong contracts, and win campaigns at this year’s Summer Leadership Conference.

PSA is proud to announce reaching a 4-year agreement with MSEA.

PSA's team was masterful in bargaining: providing full transparency to members through regular and detailed updates from the table, surveying members on priorities, asking for and accepting feedback from membership, and standing strong fighting for equity for all PSA members. This agreement brings about some more equity in the areas of working conditions, pension, and wages. But we know there's more work to do. We will do that work as we continue to fight for MSEA's member's rights and our own worker's rights as PSA members.

Do Better. Due Process is a basic union right and value.

Do Better. Due Process is a basic union right and value.

Our contract is clear: discipline must meet the standard of just cause.
But recently, FEA leadership has failed to uphold the basics of due process:
❌ No clear notice of any rule violation
❌ No proof—most of the evidence was withheld
❌ No progressive discipline
❌ No consideration of 24+ years of dedicated service

This isn’t just a technicality—it’s a fundamental protection for every FSO member. When employers ignore just cause, they undermine the rights we fight to protect.
We’re calling on FEA to Do Better!
