BBIC Annual Yard Sale - Donations Needed!
We’re excited to announce our upcoming Yard Sale on June 27th & 28th -and we need your help!
We’re now accepting donations of new or gently used items to raise funds for immigration agency processing fees for community members in need. Your contributions make a direct impact!

We’re accepting items such as:
• Household goods
• Tools
• Health & beauty supplies
• Books
• Tech items
• And more!

Donation Guidelines:
BBIC is fully volunteer-run, so to help our team efficiently sort and process items:
•Send a picture of your donated items so we can predetermine if they can be accepted
• For Big Multiitem Donations, Please Make sure donations are in small boxes or bins for both pick up and drop off
• Only donate items that are clean, functional, and in good condition

We kindly ask that you do not bring broken or unusable items-we are not a waste disposal service, and disposing of such items costs us valuable time and funds.
Donation Drop-Off Deadline: Now through June 20 2026
Tax donation receipts available upon request.

Born through a tradition of resistance to colonial violence, defiance through joy, and connections to the land, on Saturday, November 15th we continue this legacy and invite all of you to join us for a Carne Asada and Cumbia night.

Cumbia's rhythm has reached far and wide, with roots in music and dance from many different Indigenous communities in Colombia, Africa, and Turtle Island. While being together in joy, we want to use this moment to educate ourselves on how to truly show up for each other, learn about resources that are available to the community, and send funds to those in need.

All proceeds from the carne asada will go to the Fifth Sun Project (undocu relief fund for families in northern and southern Nevada) and BBIC (our nonprofit) (whome provides assistance to families navigating the immigration process). We encourage folks to use this space to connect and share knowledge with one another. The event will start at 3:00 pm with a Free Dance Workshop (DM for address), and the Carne Asada ($10 a plate) and Cumbia will start around 5 pm (DM for address). Cumbia beats courtesy of DJ Rubi Jo!! This is a family friendly event!

The ongoing federal government shutdown is putting SNAP benefits in Nevada at risk, and if it continues past October 31st, thousands of families may not receive their November benefits.

This uncertainty is heartbreaking and places an enormous burden on families who rely on these resources to put food on the table. While we hope for a resolution that supports the people most affected, we’re not waiting to take action.

🍂 Join us in making sure every family can share a warm Thanksgiving meal.
We’re hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to provide dinner packages for families in need.

📍 Drop off non-perishable food items at the NNIS office and help BBIC bring comfort and hope to our community this holiday season.

Every donation,big or small, makes a difference. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes without a Thanksgiving meal. 🧡
