Mary came into Emerge already building momentum, but her creative career was still competing for space with everything else. Over the year, she made the decision to leave her job, grew her year-to-date creative revenue by 265%, and moved from trying to find time for her art to building the systems, financial foundation, and capacity to support a growing creative business.

The Emerge transformation journey never looked the same for every artist that went through it in our 2025 cohort. Sometimes it meant more revenue. Sometimes it meant better boundaries, stronger systems, clearer direction, or finally giving yourself permission to build the creative life you actually want.

Ten artists entered with completely different goals and challenges, and their stories unfolded in completely different ways. That was always the point. ❤️ If you were invited to join our 2027 Emerge Cohort, here's your final sign to send in your application. If you're looking for your own transformation journey, DAC has BIG plans for you in 2027.

Randee and Lisa came into Emerge wanting clarity, but what they found was something deeper. Randee wanted direction and focus. Lisa wanted a realistic plan for how art could fit into the next chapter of her life.

Over the year, both got more honest about what they actually wanted, and just as importantly, what they didn’t.

For Randee, that meant becoming more intentional about where she put her energy and which opportunities actually made sense.

For Lisa, it meant realizing that success didn’t have to mean turning her art into a full-time business right now.

Their transformations looked different, but the lesson was the same: success doesn’t always mean doing more or earning more. Sometimes it means finally knowing what you want and making decisions from there.

That’s what transformation looked like for Randee + Lisa.

A little love for the DAC SQUAD 🧡 This summer, our team absolutely crushed it!! They showed up, worked hard, took ownership, solved problems, welcomed thousands of guests, and made hundreds of DAC Artist Members feel at home in our programs. And they did so much of it independently with care, energy, and a genuine belief in what we’re building together.

So far in 2026, this crew has helped sell 250+ Cup Clubs and raise $64,250 through DAC’s donation bars at West Side Creative Market and the Artpothecary. That revenue goes right back into the organization and helps us keep creating opportunities for artists to earn, exhibit, connect, and grow.
But the numbers only tell part of it. It’s the artist who gets welcomed by name. The guest who gets pulled into the fun. The bar that gets restocked without anyone asking. The thousand little things that make these programs actually work.

DAC is only as strong as the people who show up and make it happen, and this team had one hell of a summer.
We love you, DAC Squad. THANK YOU. 🫶🎨🍻

Brittney and Mike Jo were already working hard and making things happen when they entered Emerge. What they needed wasn’t another productivity hack or someone else’s perfect system.

They needed structure that actually worked for them.

Over the year, they experimented with tools, scheduling, systems, and different ways of organizing their businesses. The biggest shift was realizing they didn’t have to use any of it exactly the way it was taught. They could adapt it to their own brains, workflows, and creative lives.

That made the work more sustainable, the income more predictable, and the growth easier to hold.

There’s no gold star for doing business “the right way.” The goal is finding a way of working that helps you stay clear, consistent, and able to keep doing the work you love.

That’s what transformation looked like for Brittney + Mike Jo.

🚲 11 BIKES AND COUNTING! 💀🌮 We have to give a HUGE shoutout to George Cole and the entire team at Bethany Beach Bike Shop for once again donating a brand-new bike to TacoMania 2026!

Yep… ELEVEN bikes. 🤯 Over the years, Bethany Beach Bike Shop has now donated 11 bikes to support DAC and our events, and they continue to show up for our creative community year after year.

We shot this video with George last year, but with another bike officially coming our way for TacoMania 2026, it felt like the perfect time to bring it back. ❤️

If we had to explain our Fresh Art Pop-Up program in one video, this might be it. Two emerging artists, one big idea... an interactive mural, a fashion show, a packed Artpothecary, and a community that showed up ready to be part of it.

This year, we took a BIG risk, painted the walls white, and completely reimagined the Artpothecary as a space where artists could take over, experiment, and bring their wildest ideas to life. We think it totall paid off!

We had no idea if the DAC Artists would embrace this, or if the community would show up to support them. All signs point to YES, so we can confidently say that we finally found the purpose of this warehouse.

To every artist, visitor, volunteer, donor, and supporter (and big shoutout to Teri, our Artpothecary QUEEN!) who helped make this summer possible: thank you.

And if you're an artist and this program excites you, we want you to start thinking about your Fresh Art Pop-Up for next year. We’re especially excited by proposals that bring artists together in unexpected collaborations, and collaborative shows will have the strongest chance of being selected.

"Fresh Art Pop-Ups" started as an experiment, now it's becoming a emerging artist movement down here at the beach, and we're just getting started!

🧙‍♀️ SEA WITCH® WEEKEND IS BACK IN WEST REHOBOTH!

After the parade, keep the party going in West Rehoboth with our Sea Witch® Festival Creative Market BLOCK PARTY, taking over both DAC locations for one art-filled, music-filled, slightly spooky afternoon. 👻

We’re teaming up with our friends at The Listening Booth for a mini music festival with performances happening back and forth between the Creative Market Main Stage and an intimate Listening Booth Lounge at Artpothecary.
