We had a crazy idea: give artists a room and let them do whatever they want. Turns out, it was one of the best ideas we’ve ever had. 💡
We hand DAC Artists the keys to the Artpothecary and ask them to take a risk. Transform the room, try a wild idea on their own, or collaborate with someone unexpected. Make something they’re not completely sure will work yet.
What makes this space different is we don’t make them earn back the room. There’s no rental fee and no pressure to sell. Artists only pay a small commission when work sells, and if nothing sells, they owe us nothing. In order to get artists to take big risks, you have to make the barrier as low as possible.
This summer, 38 artists transformed the same room across 16 Fresh Art Pop-Up Shows, welcoming 4,000+ visitors and generating more than $15,000+ in reported artist sales so far. Turns out, when you give artists freedom, an audience, and permission to experiment, some pretty incredible things happen.
Now we want to keep it going year-round, and we need your help! Because artists deserve spaces where an idea doesn’t have to prove it can make money before it gets the chance to exist.
Help us keep giving artists the keys. 🪩
Donate. Join our email list. Share Fresh Art Pop-Ups with someone who should know this exists. AND it's not over yet. We have one more summer pop-up show this weekend with Brittney Bodner featuring her incredible large-scale acrylic paintings.
