POST ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY
Date: Friday, October 24
Post Opens: 3:00 PM
Party Time: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Theme: GONE BATTY

EVENT DETAILS
- Food Service: Begins at 4:30 PM (or when ready).
- Entertainment: DJ Jukebox Johnny will be spinning tunes from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
EVENT GUIDELINES
1. Who’s Invited:
- This is a VFW Post 7447 event, open only to current Post members and one non-member guest per current Post member.
- This is not a private party or an “Open to the Community” event.
2. Food Contributions:
- As with all non-catered events, admittance is based on bringing a shared “covered dish.”
- Sign-up sheets have been available in the Post all month to ensure proper preparation, space planning, and a variety of treats to sample. SIGN UP.
3. Admittance & Seating:
- We do not accept RSVPs. Parking and seating are on a “first-come, first-served basis.”
- Once we reach fire code occupancy, admittance will be closed.
- Pro Tip: Arrive early to ensure you get a spot—“the early bird catches the worm!”
4. What’s Happening?:
Costumes or come as you are.

**IMPORTANT REMINDER**
Due to traffic congestion and the closing of State Road for the Sea Witch Parade staging, the Post will not be open on Saturday, October 25.
Parking Restrictions:
- No overnight parking or public parking will be allowed during this event.
- All unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Good information for all Veterans:
During the Federal shutdown, some VA Regional Offices, including Wilmington, Delaware, have Service Officers (me!) locked out. There are no appointments and no walk-in service provided.
If you have questions about your VA benefits, you still have a few options. You can call the national customer service line at 1.800.827.1000. I would expect long delays, since people all over the country will be calling. Also, you can contact the VA through VA.gov, if you have that already set up.
