RESPONDING TO YOU'RE ACCUSER?
In John 8 we read how in the middle of the Word being given, the scene is disrupted by accusers. These accusers were attempting to find fault with the Word (Jesus John 1:1). Often, I myself have my time in the Word disrupted by an accuser, as I am confident many of you have as well. How do we respond? Do we find ourselves agreeing with our accuser, leaving the Word and being distracted? Or are we able to repeal our accusers with the Word? I personally have found more often than not that I leave the Word and go down the path of least resistance. Yet this path, although easier, has no benefit or healthy result.
I believe it's time for each of us as believers to focus upon our redemption, upon the truth and promises of the Word and depart from guilt and shame. The Word is redemptive and our God, Yahweh, is not "the accuser of the brethren", (you and I). Revelation 12:10 "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Then we continue to Revelation 12:11"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
The World, your World, your deeds, your failings have been "overcome by the Blood of the Lamb." The is our truth, our comfort, our response to the great accuser and in this we have victory.
