🔥 If you haven't already, now is the time to prepare.

With extreme heat and wildfires already affecting communities across Northern California, taking steps today can help protect your family tomorrow.

Wildfires can spread quickly, leaving little time to react. That's why it's important to:
🏠 Create an evacuation plan and practice it with your family.
🎒 Pack a Go Bag with medications, important documents, water, and essentials.
📱 Sign up for local emergency alerts and know more than one evacuation route.
🤝 Check in with neighbors, especially older adults and anyone who may need extra assistance.

At NVCSS Disaster Services, we believe preparedness saves lives. Through our partnership with Listos California, we're sharing trusted resources to help individuals and families build resilience before disaster strikes.

For eligible older adults living in rural Butte County, our Older Adult Mitigation Program also provides assistance with reducing wildfire hazards around the home, helping create safer, more defensible spaces.

The best time to prepare is before you need it.

This week, NVCSS and the Diocese of Sacramento is honored to host the Catholic Charities USA Disaster Response Academy, welcoming nearly 100 disaster recovery professionals from 27 agencies nationwide to Redding, California.

The workshops focus on restoring dignity after disaster and helping people rebuild their lives.
