Friends, meet Shadowfax ❤️

Shadow is a 20/yr old Trakehner (Arabian/TB cross), standing at 16.2hh.

Scripture speaks of dwelling in the "shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:1), a place of refuge, protection, rest, and care 🥹

And let's be real...we're fans of LOTR over here 🫣

For the first time in a very long time, he will have a solid weight plan, room to roam, grass beneath his feet, and so many people committed to helping him heal. Today isn't about where he's been, it's about the good promise of God for hope and a future.

Welcome home, sweet boy. May this be the beautiful beginning of a brand new life 🙏

This sweet baby jack rabbit, just a few weeks old, earned herself a little vacation to Iron Giants after a lawnmower incident just before last week's storm.

Tater is out of surgery and doing phenomenal 🥹

Huge shout-out to the Crossroads Equine Hospital team for their compassion and excellent care, as well as Robin Byrd Kesner, ACS Engineering & Excavating, Crystaline Serna, and Charlie Morris for your donations making this blessing possible 🙏

There are still funds needed for his vet stay during recovery, so if you feel led to help support, all donations are still going to Mr. Tater until he is cleared to come home ❤️

One of our incredible board members, and dear friends sweet boy, Tater, needs our help. ❤️

Last year, despite multiple requests not to, a neighbor had been feeding him sugary treats, which triggered a severe laminitis episode due to his Cushing’s. Since then, it’s been a very long road of vet visits, corrective shoeing, medications, and trying everything possible to keep him comfortable and to get him healthy again.

Today, they went in with the hope of having his wedges removed after making so much progress. Unfortunately, the blood flow in his hoof has become critically compromised, and he now needs emergency surgery for a chance to save him.

We are here at the vet with her now, and she is $500 short for the surgery.

If anyone would like to help Tater, every single donation will go directly toward his emergency care and surgery costs.

This has been emotionally and financially exhausting for her and her family, and we would love to help take some of that weight off someone who gives so much to our rescue horses every single day.

We hear it all the time:

WE TOTALLY GET IT!

This is one of the easiest ways to support our rescue without making a large donation.

Here’s how it works:

✔ Each swipe rounds up to the nearest dollar
✔ Your spare change helps support rescued draft horses

That’s it!

Example: If your coffee is $4.92, your purchase will round up the 8 cents.

It's the grunts and smiles for me 🥹

Browsing through videos from this past winter and found these gems.

Although Atlas was going through treatment for both of his eyes, he still met us with a beautiful moment of trust, relaxation, and connection.

Sweet, sweet boy. Thank you for the joy and happiness you have brought to everyone's lives 🙏
