For National Disability Employment Awareness Month ( ), we’re kicking off our Employment Spotlight Friday series! Throughout October, we’re highlighting the incredible talents, dedication, and positive energy the individuals we support bring to our local workforce every single day.

First up is David! Working at Sequoia Wellness, David demonstrates every day how hard work, reliability, and a welcoming presence elevate an entire team. His leadership at Sequoia shared that David fits in seamlessly, stating that he's "a hard worker and such a joy to be around," while earning the genuine love and respect of both staff and gym members alike.

David’s contribution goes way beyond his daily tasks—he helps shape a warm, inclusive environment for everyone who walks through the doors. Thank you, Sequoia Wellness, for partnering with Epic to champion inclusive employment! 🏆💜

Our individuals at PEACE had a blast getting crafty with colorful sand art recently! Layer by layer, everyone poured their favorite colors into jars to create unique, vibrant designs to take home.

Last Thursday, October 1st, Wendy had an absolute blast attending the Deaf Speaker event hosted by the Kent State University ASL Club on campus!

The event featured a powerful talk by Farah Kish-Leland—who happens to be the mother of one of our very own DSPs! Held as a strictly "voices off" event to honor and promote true immersion in American Sign Language and Deaf culture, a student interpreter helped keep the room fully accessible and connected for everyone.

We love seeing the individuals we support explore their interests, engage in rich cultural events, and make meaningful connections in our local community! 🤟💜

Last Thursday, eight members of Epic’s management team had the honor of attending the 12th Annual Celebrate Portage! Awards Dinner!

It was a wonderful evening dedicated to recognizing the incredible individuals and organizations shaping the future of our local community through service, kindness, and dedication. We were so inspired to stand alongside fellow Portage County changemakers, celebrate these well-deserved honors, and toast to the people who make our community such an extraordinary place to live and grow! 🥂✨

Bob and Cliff had the best time visiting the Reed Memorial Library in Ravenna this month for their Dog Pause event! 🐶✨

There’s nothing quite like spending time with a gentle, certified therapy dog to brighten your day. They loved getting to stop by, say hello, and get in some quality fur-friend snuggles. Huge thanks to the Ravenna Library and the amazing handlers for hosting such a wonderful, welcoming event for our community! 🤝🐕

This past Saturday, our Epic team had the absolute best time at the Ravenna Balloon A-Fair right here in downtown Ravenna!

Events like this are such a great reminder of how special our local community is. We loved getting out, catching up with friendly faces, and connecting with so many wonderful neighbors and local businesses. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi and celebrate with us! 🎈✨
