Sending lots of love to Marie and our friends at Blosser's Dari Drive Inn! Looking forward to getting our next ice cream scoop as a delicious way to support!
FINALLY I CAN UPDATE: So first my sister Marie is doing just ok so far. She sleeps alot which is expected after a major stroke and complications from the stroke but I finally was able yesterday to have about a 30 minute conversation with her yesterday and it's crazy how she remembers more about things and people here at work than other general things. It truly shows how much she loves our Blosser's family. Today she had a procedure done to hopefully find out what caused the stroke so she's now at home at her daughter's where she has been this whole time resting even more today. Let's keep those prayers coming and that she gets answers to prevent this from ever happening again. Also from the bottom of all of our hearts ๐ the love you have shown our family during this time is beyond words. When I finally was able to look at my original post yesterday I was beyond blessed and in disbelief that 199 people have shared this post. Wow just wow. The cards, well wishes, prayers ๐ and financial donations are beyond what I could have expected. All of you are so very generous and please know that we love you as much as you love us. Probably more. Thank you again and please keep those prayers coming for my sister Marie.
So here it goes and this one is tough. Since all of you aren't just customers you are family it's only fitting that I tell you why things have been a little different around Blosser's.
So my sister Marie had surgery for her trigger fingers on Sep 1st and was finally able to come back to work on the 16th. On the 18th had what we thought was a mini stroke. With much begging and pleading (because she thought she was fine), we finally got her to the hospital. It was determined that it wasn't a mini stroke but in fact was a major stroke which didnโt have an effect on her physically but did affect her brain.
And then the complications started where the large stroke got larger. Long story short, she ended up being taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic main campus which was incredible (There was lightening in Clev so they couldn't life flight her). She was put in ICU for a few days and then spent a few more days in the hospital until last week.
She has started the long road of physical therapy and tons of appointments, so here's where I ask for your help.
My sister is a very private person but I say let's flood her with cards or whatever you'd like to send as she has served all of you for 46 years and she deserves the love returned I think.
This is the time we make our final push for the last roughly 6 weeks of the season so I know that my sister is not prepared financially for all of this. I have decided to give her all the tips I receive and I am going to do my best to help her as much as I can to relieve any burden on her. Here's where all our amazing customers come in. Please keep us busy for the next 6 or so weeks so I can help my sister that has helped me for all these years through my medical issues.
Also, if youโre inclined and want to tip, please know that it is going directly to her. Also, so many people that know whats going on have already gave extra money for her which is so appreciated more than words can tell. I usually cry so also please bear with me when I have brain fog myself from working 7 days a week 11 or more hours per day and plan on doing it til end of season.
Also when I had cancer Facebook wasn't as popular as today and people showered with with cards of encouragement, flowers, and gifts by dropping them off at Blosser's Dari Drive Inn. Let's show her the same love you all showed me and remember she's been helping me keep serving you all for 46 years. That's a long time and we're not getting any younger sadly.
