Yesterday we spent time together breaking bread, playing games and celebrating our mission. Thank you to everyone who came out and had fun at our annual picnic.

Habitat for Humanity of Portage County extends our heartfelt thanks to the Kent State University Habitat for Humanity Student Chapter for volunteering at one of our construction sites this past Saturday.

The students continue to give their time and energy to help move a home closer to completion. Their hard work was more than assistance on a construction site—it was a meaningful contribution to a local family’s future. Thank you also to the Chadwicks, a family who received their Habitat home last year…for joining these efforts as well. Our culture continues to be one of ongoing support of one another…before, during and after home ownership.

Every task completed by all, brings this family one step closer to the safety, stability, and independence that an affordable home provides. Knowing that members of the community care enough to work alongside our families also makes the journey toward homeownership even more special. Thank you students and others again for your devotion and support of affordable housing.

We honored our active military, inactive military and first responders today via our 9/11 Day of Service. Huge shout out to Leadership Portage County for working on their eighth Habitat home!!! Our partnership with such an incredible organization means everything to us. Men and women came together to remember and honor the victims of September 11th and to also elevate the first responders who fought to save as many people as possible on that fateful day. We were also very honored to host four veterans who are in this year’s LPC class. Thank you to Police Chief Gary Stone from Kent and Commissioner Sabrina Christian-Bennet for joining us in this act of remembrance.

🏠 A year of building homes, communities, and hope.

We’re proud to share Habitat for Humanity of Portage County’s FY26 Annual Report, highlighting the families, volunteers, donors, partners, staff, and community members who made this past year possible.

From new and rehabilitated homes and critical home repairs, to thousands of volunteer hours, a thriving ReStore, community partnerships, and nearly 500 tons of material diverted from landfills, the impact of Habitat reaches far beyond the walls of the homes we build.

Take a few minutes to scroll through our year in review and see what neighbors helping neighbors can accomplish right here in Portage County.

💙💚 Thank you to everyone who helped make FY26 a year worth celebrating. We couldn’t build without you.

What an incredible day of blessings!!! Raquel and Samson received their forever home through our Habitat affiliate. One of the most beautiful rehab projects we have completed ever…the Portage County Land Bank made this dream an affordable possibility for this beautiful family. Our Construction Manager, and our volunteers, rehabbed this exquisite early 1900 home that has custom woodwork through out, pocket doors, built in window seat, lead glass windows and a custom built in cabinet. Please look through these pics at this beautiful home and also the pics of the incredible turn out we had for the ceremony…which we held in Raquel’s spacious custom garage. Thank you to all of today’s speakers and guests!!!! Huge thanks to Kline and Kavali for their generous donation of all plumbing supplies and install…and Allen Aircraft for once again filling this home with food and toiletries. Special thank you to Bobs Pizza and Sunshine Cupcakes for their donation of some of today’s food and to everyone who brought food to share! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to the best affiliate Habitat board for their multiple gifts for the family, support during the build and for showing up today!!!

Raquel, our current Habitat Partner Family whose dedication is around the corner…donated her time putting on siding for the NEXT family. At Habitat for Humanity of Portage County, we love the fact our families work and support each other to achieve the dream of home ownership.
