Jesus came to bring us freedom!

He sets us free from our past, our burdens, our shame and our guilt. He frees us from the sin that holds us captive. And ultimately, he frees us from the fear and finality of death.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Freedom in Christ doesn’t give us permission to live however we want. It gives us the freedom to live the life God created us for, under His care and in His victory.

"Consider it pure joy... whenever you face trials of many kinds.” – James 1:2

The word "consider" matters.

James isn't telling us to pretend that suffering is easy or enjoyable. He's calling us to actively evaluate what we are facing through the truth of God’s Word.

When trials come, our first response is often fear, frustration, or wanting to escape. Scripture calls us to look deeper and remember that God is still in control, even when we don't understand what He's doing.

The circumstances may be hard, but choosing to see them through the truth of Scripture changes the way we walk through them.

You can spend years around the things of God and still miss what He’s doing right in front of you.

This week, our study of Luke brought us to Zechariah's story. Zechariah was a priest. He knew the Scriptures and served faithfully in the temple, yet when God finally answered his prayer for a child, he struggled to believe the promise.

Familiarity can quietly become unbelief. We can know the stories, attend church and hear God’s Word week after week without really expecting Him to move or trusting what He says.

Don’t become so familiar with the things of God that you miss Christ.

Is Christianity just blind faith?

God has not left us without evidence. Throughout His creation and His Word, He has given us “breadcrumbs” that point us toward the truth and ultimately lead us to Jesus.

Romans 1:19-20 tells us that God has made Himself known through what He has made. His power and divine nature are on display all around us.

There's something powerful about making room in your week for God’s Word.

Monday nights give us a chance to step away from the noise, open the Bible together, and let Scripture shape the way we think, live, work, and follow Christ.

We’re only a few weeks into our study through Luke, and we’re grateful for every man who has chosen to make this time a priority.

We’ll be back together next Monday night at Providence Church.
