The ABA had a successful week at the ABMS Conference 2026! Staff and leadership shared expertise on educational innovation, workforce readiness, assessment and continuing certification, while also celebrating two major recognitions: the inaugural ABMS Innovation Award for MOCA Minute® and a research poster Recognition Award for our psychometrics team.

Thank you to our board-certified anesthesiologist volunteers who came together Sept. 24-25 for the 2026 BASIC Exam Committee meeting. Together, they reviewed a draft of next year's BASIC Exam, the first initial assessment taken at the end of the CA-1 year to demonstrate residents' mastery of clinical anesthesiology fundamentals.
