AN EVENING SUPPORTING VOTER PARTICIPATION! 🗳️ Thank you to everyone who joined NCVP in celebrating civic engagement last night in Raleigh. We’re grateful for the conversations, partnerships, and shared commitment to expanding voter education and civic participation. Voting is foundational to a representative democracy, and together, we can help more North Carolinians become informed, registered, and ready to vote. From our Future Voters Network high-school program to research-backed outreach efforts, thank you for helping support this work.

In Louisiana v. Callais, the Supreme Court raised the bar for challenging voting maps—now requiring proof of intent, not just discriminatory outcomes.

This could have implications for representation at every level of government.

Stay informed. Stay ready. Stay registered.

What is the SAVE Act, and why does it matter? 🗳️
Congress is currently debating changes to federal voting law. The SAVE Act has passed the U.S. House and is awaiting consideration in the Senate.
If enacted, it would require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote.

This week, North Carolina Voter Project supported its first nonpartisan, student-led voter registration drive at Rolesville High School! Our bright FVN Ambassadors engaged their peers during their homeroom and lunch periods to emphasize the importance of getting registered (and pre-registered) to vote ahead of election season this November, and reminded them it’s THEIR VOTE, OUR FUTURE ✅🗳

As student leader, Victoria Menjivar, shared, “It’s exciting to see how you can influence your community and see the impact in real life.”

Many thanks to our partners ( Donuts + Democracy, The Civics Center, and Rolesville High School Coalition for Equity), and Rolesville High student leaders, Victoria Menjivar & Ana DePas Martines, and faculty advisors, Cheryl Bailey & Christina McCray, who made this possible (and yes, the donuts helped!).

If you’re a North Carolina high school student or educator interested in increasing civic engagement and bringing voter registration to your school, contact [email protected] for more information, or sign up via the FVN link in our bio.
