The 2026 Dinah Gore 4-H Healthy Food Challenge brought together 4-H’ers from across the state for a day of cooking, creativity and teamwork!

In the competition, held at the Got to Be NC Festival, teams worked together to prepare healthy dishes, present their recipes to judges, and showcase their communication and culinary skills. Participating teams earned their place at the state competition through regional qualifying events held earlier this spring.

But wait, there’s more! For the first time in the history of this competition, two senior teams tied for first place, highlighting the talent shown during this year’s challenge. Congratulations to the Alexander Grill Billies and the Lee County 4-H Flavor Fighters, who will both advance to represent North Carolina at the National 4-H Food Challenge in Texas later this year!

Congratulations to all of the winning teams!
