Service Above Self in action! 🛠️❤️

Members from District 7710—including NCSU Rotaract, Cary Rotary, and West Raleigh Rotary—joined forces with the Rotary Clubs of Black Mountain and Swannanoa Valley, alongside Hammer & Heart, to help neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene.

Together, volunteers worked to provide urgent home repairs for residents who are financially unable to restore and maintain their homes in a safe and livable condition. From repairing storm damage to restoring hope, these efforts are helping families rebuild and move forward.

Rotary's commitment to service extends far beyond our local communities, and we're proud to support recovery efforts that make a lasting difference in the lives of those affected.

Join us Friday, May 8 at 12:30 PM for our meeting featuring guest speaker Rev. Robert Gamble, D.Min., PC(USA)!

Rev. Gamble will share about the work of This Child Here, a ministry serving families displaced by the war in Ukraine. Thousands have fled eastern cities and resettled in Izmail in the west—often mothers and children, as many fathers remain in dangerous areas or are serving in the military.

Through essential support like groceries, youth programs, and activities in sports, music, and art—along with care from trained psychologists—this ministry is helping families heal from the trauma of war and rebuild a sense of community.

This Child Here, Inc. is a validated ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful and inspiring program.
