Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we recognize the men and women of law enforcement across North Carolina who work every day to keep our communities safe.

Public safety is at the top of everyone’s minds in North Carolina, and law enforcement officers are on the front lines—responding to emergencies, preventing harm, and serving our neighborhoods with professionalism and dedication.

At CCJR, we believe safe communities and a fair, effective criminal justice system go hand in hand. We are grateful for the role law enforcement plays in protecting lives and upholding the rule of law, and we value continued collaboration to strengthen trust, accountability, and safety for all North Carolinians.

Thank you to North Carolina’s law enforcement officers for your service and commitment to our communities.

Thirty years ago, most of us didn’t know what the internet was. Today, nearly every aspect of life — banking, healthcare, transportation — is online. Now, so is justice.

North Carolina has officially completed the statewide rollout of eCourts, making it the first state in the nation to fully digitize court operations for all case types.

✅ 100 counties online
✅ 6 million electronic filings
✅ 20 million sheets of paper saved
✅ 5 million record searches monthly

This transformation makes access to justice faster, more transparent, and more equitable for every North Carolinian.

Congratulations to the North Carolina Judicial Branch and everyone who made this milestone possible!

North Carolinians can now file court documents, search for records, and have 24/7 access to case events and court dates from the comfort of their home.

We are heartbroken by the tragic death of Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte. Our thoughts are with her loved ones and the community mourning this devastating loss.

In moments like these, it is natural for calls for more policing to dominate headlines. But public safety requires more than enforcement alone — it requires ensuring that stakeholders at every level have the resources they need to effectively respond when mental health crises arise.

North Carolina must invest in comprehensive mental health infrastructure, crisis intervention, and community-based support systems. By equipping first responders, service providers, and community organizations with the tools and training they need, we can prevent crises from escalating into tragedy.

Justice is not only about accountability after harm is done — it is also about building the systems that keep people safe and prevent violence before it happens.

Big win for access to justice in North Carolina!

The NC Administrative Office of the Courts has announced that eCourts Guide & File has now helped users generate over 100,000 legal filings—all through a free, online tool.

This platform gives everyday North Carolinians the power to navigate the courts more easily, without needing a lawyer for common filings. It’s a major step toward transparency, efficiency, and individual empowerment—hallmarks of conservative criminal justice reform.

eCourts is now live in 73 counties, with full statewide coverage coming by late 2025. This is what smart, accountable government looks like.

At Conservatives for Criminal Justice Reform, we continue to champion practical, conservative solutions that make government work better, not bigger. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone from the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts: more than 100,000 court filings...
