Today, we mourn the loss of Dolores Huerta, a trailblazing civil rights leader, labor organizer, and lifelong advocate for justice, equality, and the Latino community.
As co-founder of the United Farm Workers (UFW), Huerta dedicated her life to fighting for the dignity and rights of farmworkers, empowering women, and ensuring that the voices of underserved communities were heard. Her courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to social and economic justice helped shape our nation’s history and left an enduring mark on Latino heritage and culture.
Her legacy reminds us that meaningful change begins when people come together, stand up for what is right, and work toward a better future for the next generation. Her iconic words, “¡Sí, se puede!” — Yes, we can! — will continue to inspire generations to come.
On behalf of the Latino Chamber of Commerce and Latino Chamber Foundation, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and all those whose lives were touched by her remarkable work.
May we honor her legacy by continuing the work she championed: empowering our communities, creating opportunities, and ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
Rest in peace, Dolores Huerta. Your legacy will live on.🕊️
