Many thanks to the El Pomar Foundation for providing a merit grant to the Green Chile Bike Bank! Jennifer Polk, GCBB Treasurer picked up a check last month from the foundation established in 1937 for the well-being of the people of Colorado by Julie and Spencer Penrose. This grant will help the Bike Bank connect more individuals throughout the Pueblo community to bikes and regular maintenance as well as navigation for housing and supportive services. We are grateful to the Trustees for investing in our mission!

Can you change bicycle tires and perform other regular bike maintenance? We need you!

Starting in October, we're looking for one or two people to help knock out our most common Tuesday night requests from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at our shop while our core volunteer mechanics perform the heavy fixes.

Check it out!! The weather looks perfect for this on Saturday the 12th!

Who plans to join the largest relay this coming Sat and Sun? This relay is celebrating 250 years of America and passing through Pueblo. You can go as far or short as you want. It is free but you need to sign up!

So far Saturday sign ups: 6 cyclists (5x42.4 miles, 1x15.0 miles), 4 runners (1x7.4 miles, 1x3.0 miles). On Sunday sign ups: 4 cyclists are riding all 78 miles to La Junta, nobody else signed up yet. Please comment if you plan to join, Conservancy District is offering snacks and a decent estimate is needed.

Hey cyclists, what are you doing Sept 12th and 13th? The longest non-motorized relay is coming to Pueblo and FREE for you to join along the way. You can ride all the way, or just a few miles, or even walk or run the final miles.

Must register on the RED link at https://www.activepueblo.net/adt-relay where all the latest details and updated times will be posted. We cannot see registration so comment if you plan to attend and where you might join in. Pueblo Bike Riders (PBR) is planning to ride 10 miles out from town to join the relay at Juniper Breaks Campground at Lake Pueblo and ride back in so check out their page and details.

Check out the flyer with TENTATIVE times to be at your desired location to hopefully finish about noon the Nuckolls bridge (levee bridge near Main St trailhead). Be flexible though, this has never been done before, it might get a little crazy.

The statewide rebate program will provide $1,000 discounts toward the purchase of a new e-bike to more than 2,800 income-qualified residents over the next year, the Colorado Energy Office announced Thursday.

Green Chile Bike Bank is putting out a call to the community for bicycle donations! We hate turning anyone away for lack of inventory, but we’re in need of small and average sized bicycles at this time and we need your help!
