🎉 Congratulations to our PAT Parent Educator, Erica Smith, on her nomination for National Home Visitor of the Year! 🎉

We are so proud to have Erica on our team and grateful for the heart she brings to her work every day. ❤️ Congratulations, Erica, on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

"Some home visitors are remembered for what they taught. Erica is remembered for how she made families feel during the hardest seasons of their lives.

For seven years, Erica has consistently served families facing the highest levels of stress, including domestic violence, CPS involvement, child developmental delays and disabilities, military deployment, and social isolation.”

The Church Colorado Calls Its Oldest Parish

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Conejos, Colorado traces its roots to the earliest Hispano settlement of the San Luis Valley in the 1850s, and it's widely recognized as Colorado's oldest parish — a congregation that's never stopped, even though the building itself has been rebuilt more than once.

The original adobe church went up in the 1850s-60s, part of it burned in a 1926 fire, and the structure standing today was substantially rebuilt in 1948, incorporating what could be saved from the earlier building. Through all of it, the parish has stayed in continuous use by the same Hispano community whose ancestors settled the valley nearly 175 years ago.
