Southern Colorado Trail Builders, we’re back at it and looking ahead to an awesome fall season! Here are a few important updates:

📅 September Community Meeting
There will be NO community meeting in September due to the Labor Day holiday. Enjoy the long weekend, and we’ll see you out on the trails!

🔨 Trail Work Resumes!
Mark your calendars for September 13, 8 AM–12 PM at Lake Pueblo. Come lend a hand, get some dirt under your boots, and help keep our trails in great shape! 💪🌿

🎉 TRAILS BASH — October 17!
Save the date! More details are coming soon, so stay tuned to your email and social media for all the latest updates.

📲 MEMBERSHIP UPDATE — CardSkipper
The CardSkipper app has a new update, and all members will be asked to sign in again using their email and password. Don’t worry—it’s just part of the app update!

Get out and enjoy the trails at Lake Pueblo! 🌄 With the summer heat, we recommend hitting the trails early in the morning to enjoy cooler temperatures and a great ride.

What an incredible turnout for our July 6th Southern Colorado Trail Builders Community Meeting! It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces and connect with fellow trail enthusiasts and community partners.
A huge thank you to Corinne Koehler from Pueblo Friends of the Arkansas River for sharing the organization’s vision, contributions, and lasting impact on our community. We learned about their ongoing efforts to improve the health of the Arkansas River, enhance recreation trail connections, and support important levee improvements that benefit everyone who lives, works, and plays in Pueblo.
We were also fortunate to have a last-minute guest, George Koncilja, one of the newest board members of the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center. George shared a firsthand account of the conditions at Pueblo Mountain Park and an inspiring vision for recovery following the Aspen Acres Wildfire.
His message was both hopeful and motivating:
“A lot can be done with a small amount of volunteers.”
“We will need boots on the ground, and this will be a community effort.”
As opportunities become available, we’ll share ways our trail-building community can lend a hand. Follow our social media channels and sign up for email updates at www.socotrails.org to learn how you can put your trail-building skills to work for an important cause.
Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by the Aspen Acres Wildfire, and we extend our deepest gratitude to all of the firefighters, first responders, and support personnel whose coordinated efforts continue to protect our communities.

Join us for our monthly community meeting featuring a guest speaker, Corinne Koehler, from Friends of the Arkansas River and the Pueblo Conservancy District. Learn about ongoing conservation efforts, river stewardship, and opportunities to get involved in protecting our local natural resources.
Whether you’re an experienced trail steward or looking to get involved for the first time, we’d love to see you there!
💚Out of respect for the ongoing wildfire emergency and to ensure resources remain focused where they are needed most, our scheduled Trail Work Day on Saturday, July 12, has been canceled.
Please continue to keep everyone affected by the Aspen Acres Fire in your thoughts, and thank you to all who are serving our community during this challenging time. 💚

Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the Aspen Acres Fire in the Beulah, San Isabel, and Rye communities. We know this is an incredibly difficult time for residents, businesses, and all those facing uncertainty.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, first responders, emergency personnel, and volunteer fire departments who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and the beautiful landscapes we all cherish. Your courage and dedication does not go unnoticed.
Southern Colorado Trail Builders (SCTB) is in communication with our land partner, the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center (NWDC), and we are waiting to learn how we can provide meaningful assistance to the Beulah community and the Pueblo Mountain Park campus. As volunteer opportunities become available, we will share updates through email and our social media channels.
Trailbuilders, please stay tuned for ways our volunteer network can come together to support our neighbors during the recovery process.
Due to the ongoing emergency and to ensure resources remain focused where they are needed most, our scheduled Trail Work Day on Sunday July 12, has been canceled.
Please continue to keep everyone affected by the Aspen Acres Fire in your thoughts, and thank you to all who are serving our community during this challenging time. 💚
