Beautiful Day We're a non-profit granola company on a mission to connect refugees to the community through business, job training, and education.

Beautiful Day began in 2008 after a late night, a few beers, and a couple of good friends wondering what might help newly-arrived refugees start rebuilding their lives in Providence? Our answer: Why not gourmet granola? It seemed like the perfect food: wholesome, natural, satisfying, beautiful. We loved making it, so why shouldn’t it change a few lives along the way? The real answer, of course, fo

r what refugees need has always involved jobs and connections to their new communities. Starting a granola factory has turned out to be a surprisingly perfect solution. Fifteen years later we are now an established non-profit social enterprise. We still hand-make gourmet granola and bars (about 10 tons annually), while providing job training to about 100 refugees through 4 different programs. Our award-winning products not only nourish our community but provide each customer with an invitation to learn about refugee resettlement. These days we make more than granola. Our granola chef, Evon, had some time to play in the kitchen and came up with something pretty interesting! She whipped up some rice and mixed in our Mochaccino Hazelnut, resulting in a delicious, savory-sweet combination!

The season of snacks is upon us! And if you haven't tried our handmade granola bars, now's the perfect time! One of our recently graduated kitchen trainees, Amel, wanted to demonstrate his skills on the sealing machine (it's harder than it looks--a steady hand is a must!) as he prepared a batch of fresh Bananas Foster bars, ready to be enjoyed at an afternoon picnic, a day out at the beach, or anywhere you go this summer.
