If not you, then who?

Too often, the people making decisions about jobs, taxes, housing, workforce development, and economic growth have never had to meet a payroll or run a business.

Rhode Island needs leaders who understand these challenges firsthand.
Consider running for the Rhode Island General Assembly.

GPCC President Laurie White joined Tara Granahan Wpro Granahan on NewsTalk 99.7 & AM 630 WPRO “The Tara Granahan Show” to discuss the proposed “millionaire’s tax” and what it could really mean for Rhode Island’s economy.

During the conversation, Laurie discussed recent economic research identifying several areas where Rhode Island continues to struggle, including a heavy tax burden, aging infrastructure, population loss, uneven income distribution, high population density, and an unfavorable age structure. She explained how these challenges impact Rhode Island’s competitiveness, ability to attract talent and investment, and long-term economic growth.

If Rhode Island is projected to see a $233 million surplus, why are we looking to add taxes that could push people and businesses out of the state? Spending discipline must come first.

We encourage Rhode Islanders to listen to the conversation and better understand what’s at stake for Rhode Island’s economic future.

Take action today:
Speaker’s Office: (401) 222-2466
Governor’s Office: (401) 222-2080

Tell state leaders:
“Rhode Island needs growth, investment, and job creation — not higher taxes.”

The rain was pouring and the spring chill was in the air, but warm welcomes, celebration and learning were heating up the GPCC community last week.

Thank you to Dr. Darlene M. Piva, MA, PsyD from William James College who gave an insightful presentation at our monthly Lunch & Learn about organizational psychology and what makes teams thrive, leaders inspire and workplaces function.

We were also proud to join Mayor Ken Hopkins to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Anna's Taqueria in Cranston. Check out their amazing menu filled with authentic ingredients cooked fresh on-site as well as some refreshing natural beverages for the warmer days ahead.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event! https://bit.ly/4nECiJ9
