WHAT WE ARE:
We Are Human is an online community based organization that was created to foster insight into the essence of human thought and how to converse effectively with one another. This page welcomes people of all opinions and morals such as those of liberal and conservative ideologies.

WHERE TO BEGIN:
Your first post should say a little bit about you and your perspective, maybe include a picture of yourself and what brought you to this page. Then declare what topics you would be willing to discuss. Get involved!

This is a structured environment for difficult conversations.

RULES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Rule Number 1. When engaging in these conversations, you should be respectful of others' opinions and attempt to take away from the other person's perspective. This space is for those who want the opportunity to understand a different side of the same issue.
Rule Number 2. There will only be fruitful and progressive conversations tolerated here. This space is meant to be uncomfortable at first, but will hopefully inspire you to engage in a part of the human experience that will enable you to connect deeper with other human beings.
Rule Number 3. Allow yourself to overcome tensions with opposing ideologies and experience a deeper understanding of life.

WEEKLY EVENT:
Every week at 12pm on Sundays, there will be a structured event in which a facilitator will prompt a conversation with a specific topic. Examples may include abortion, gun rights, capitalism, socialism, climate change, etc.

On March 24, 2020 on We Are Human's page, I, Jairson Ascencao, and Samantha Dick recorded a video which was made up of two parts. The first was an interview of Samantha Dick as an author, where she discussed her book and her views before going into a new experience for us both. In the second portion of the video, which was lead by Samantha, she took on the role of a climate change denier, I the role of a climate change supporter, and together we had a conversation about the differences in our beliefs. Only the first of many hopeful conversations in which she aims to get people of different opinions speaking with each other.
