Millennial Rhode Island is a generational network inspiring millennials to . We as "Millennial Rhode Island" (MRI) wish to see this trend change.

Our state has prodigious universities and unparalleled technical programs producing a skilled and educated workforce. These young up-and-comings are often burdened with student debt, underemployment and lack of hands on experience in the field of their choosing. MRI wants to focus on keeping young talent here in the state. Whether it be through looking at more business/entrepreneur friendly statew

ide policies or tackling the crippling student loan issues facing our generation, MRI wants to make sure that Rhode Island is both a destination and a home. We want to demonstrate statewide and nationally, that the 300,000 millennials that reside here are invested in improving Rhode Island and we are worth being invested in.

We’re proud to partner on this important financial literacy initiative helping students build real world skills around saving, banking, networking, and future career success. 💡

Whats Up Newp features the program at Thompson Middle School where students receive financial literacy education through the FLY Initiative, the opportunity to open savings accounts through BankNewport, career exposure, and networking and skill-building coaching from Millennial RI, while CFA Society Providence helps oversee data collection and analysis.

Thank you to Treasurer Diossa, the FLY Initiative, BankNewport, Navigant Credit Union, Bristol County Savings Bank, CFA Society Providence, Frank E. Thompson Middle School, the Rhode Island Foundation, and all the partners helping make this work possible.
