Fighting food insecurity and the environmental impact of food surplus

Share My Meals collects balanced meals made from surplus prepared foods from food service providers and distributes them directly to the homes of local families in need. Since 2020, we have delivered more than 120,000 healthy meals directly to the home of the 180 families enrolled in our program.

During Bristol Myers Squibb Patient Week October 5 - 9, Share My Meals partnered with the Sodexo USA food service teams at Bristol Myers Squibb sites to recover surplus meals.

Over five days, we picked up 708 meals from 3 locations, including BMS Princeton Pike, BMS New Brunswick and BMS Summit West. The food went to community organizations in Morristown, Bound Brook and Trenton, who served it to their community members.

It went smoothly because the Sodexo kitchen teams reached out ahead of time and made pickups easy for our volunteers and drivers all week.

200,000 meals recovered and delivered in 2026! 🎉💚

This World Food Day, we're celebrating an incredible achievement made possible by our volunteers, food donors, nonprofit partners, and supporters.

This year's theme, “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow,” highlights the importance of finding solutions to food insecurity and food waste. At Share My Meals, we're helping address both challenges by recovering surplus prepared meals and delivering them to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Behind these 200,000 meals are the people and partnerships that make our work possible. We're grateful for every contribution that helps us reach more neighbors!

We're excited to share that Share My Meals has received a $2,500 grant through the PSEG Foundation's 2026 Neighborhood Partners Program! 🎉💚

This generous support will help us recover and deliver 500 meals to neighbors experiencing food insecurity across New Jersey.

Through this new partnership, we're helping improve access to nutritious meals at no cost, ease the burden of food expenses, and reduce food waste in our communities.

A big thank you to the PSEG Foundation for supporting our Meal Recovery Program! We're excited to build this partnership and continue nourishing our neighbors.

Back to School with Share My Meals!

In September, 60 middle schoolers and their teachers from Kellman Brown Academy joined Share My Meals Inc.ls at The Campbell's Company to dig into two big issues facing New Jersey: food insecurity and food waste.

The team at Campbell's welcomed students with a look at the company's history right here in Camden and its commitment to the community. From there, we talked about how much good food goes to waste while so many of our neighbors go without, and how meal recovery can help close that gap.

Then it was time to put that learning into action:

✉️ Students wrote "Did You Know?" postcards to family members and friends across NJ, sharing facts they learned and inviting their loved ones to get involved.

🥨 They assembled snack packs in bags decorated with handwritten words of encouragement for guests at Cathedral Kitchen and Joseph's House of Camden.

Thank you to Campbell's for hosting, to Cathedral Kitchen and Joseph's House for sharing your work with our students, and to the KBA students and teachers for showing up with so much curiosity and heart. 💛

sweetgreen Princeton’s Grand Opening was a huge success! 🥗✨

Thanks to their Opening Day partnership—where every single meal purchased equaled one meal donated—Sweetgreen will be donating 400 fresh meals to Share My Meals to help nourish our Mercer County neighbors experiencing food insecurity!

We were so happy to be on-site connecting with the Princeton community and celebrating alongside local favorites Ooika (matcha), Bloombox Flowers, and Nicholas Creamery (ice cream).

Last week, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) recognized the Meal Recovery Coalition (MRC)—an initiative founded and led by Share My Meals—with the Community Partner of the Year award at their annual BBQ.

We were honored to be recognized alongside fellow community pillars, the Princeton Area Community Foundation (PACF) and HomeFront. Our new Share My Meals CEO, Kamili Williams, and Manager of Grants & Partnerships, Lucy DiSanto, were on-hand to receive the award.

Thank you to Chef Adam Livow and the entire TASK team for hosting a fantastic event to recognize , raise awareness about food insecurity, and celebrate community partnerships. We appreciate everything you do every day to serve and strengthen our region!
