A big thank you to the wonderful Princeton University Class of 2030! We were delighted to welcome two groups of students from the "Community Action" program who prepared mezze and fresh fruit boxes for local families in need in Princeton. And thank you to the YWCA Princeton and Center for Modern Aging Princeton for hosting us.

What a great way to get to know your new classmates through prepping and preparing delicious fresh food while supporting the community! :)

Metuchen Disco Soup began with a simple idea: good food should feed people first.

Together, we rescued 373.4 lbs of fresh produce, served 266 bowls of soup, supported 40 pantry clients, composted 77.1 lbs of food scraps, welcomed 150 attendees, brought together 50 volunteers and 10 partner organizations, and sent zero rescued food to trash.

The event helped families learn simple ways to reduce food waste at home, from checking what you have before shopping to using leftovers first and composting unavoidable scraps.

Thank you to every partner, contributor, volunteer, resident, cook, educator, local leader, and supporter who made Metuchen Disco Soup possible.

We’re building on this momentum with more food waste education, food recovery partnerships, and practical action in Metuchen and beyond.

Sign the Food Waste Action Pledge. Have an idea for food waste action? We’d love to hear it.

Come Chop. Dance. Eat and Enjoy.

Empowering the generation most impacted by food insecurity to drive real change! πŸ›οΈβœ¨

Our Regional Operations Associate, Nicholene Silipino, attended the Gen Z Food & Hunger Summit where she met with members of Congress to advocate for The Food Date Labeling Act. This bipartisan bill fights food waste by replacing confusing labels with just two clear standards: "BEST If Used By" for freshness and "USE By" for safety.

Now in its 4th year, the Gen Z Food & Hunger Summit brought young leaders to Washington, D.C. to study food policy and advocate directly to lawmakers.

Thank you to the , Food Systems Collaborative, and all our partners for giving the next generation a voice on Capitol Hill!

Last week, we gathered at in Princeton, whose generous hospitality made the evening possible, to celebrate our incredible volunteer community!

Together, we honored an amazing milestone: over 100,000 meals recovered and delivered to local individuals and nonprofit partners. Beyond delivering food, our volunteers continuously help us grow through fundraising, sharing their skills, and spreading the word about our mission.

A special thank you to our guest speakers for sharing inspiring stories about the impact of this work: our meal donor partner Venkat Krishnan of in Plainsboro and Bernice Guzman of .newark!

It was an inspiring evening filled with gratitude, connection, and a shared commitment to reducing food waste and fighting food insecurity. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to every volunteer, meal donor, and nonprofit partner who helps make this mission possible.

Back at it! On July 1st, our friends at Natixis CIB returned for another round of volunteering with Share My Meals. This time, 6 dedicated volunteers braved the NYC heat for a good cause.

The mission was the same: pick up surplus food from Paul Weiss and carry it, on foot, to the Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. It was a scorcher of a day, but that didn't slow this team down one bit.

We loved seeing a few familiar faces back for another shift, alongside brand-new volunteers experiencing their first SMM delivery. That mix of returning and new energy is exactly what keeps this partnership going strong, quarter after quarter.

Huge thanks to the Natixis CIB team for showing up rain, shine, or heat waves. This is what consistency in community looks like!
