Princeton University will present its top awards for alumni to Frances Arnold ’79, 2018 Nobel laureate and engineering professor at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and Mary Brunkow *91, 2025 Nobel laureate and distinguished investigator at the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) in Seattle.

Arnold, who graduated from Princeton with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering, will receive the Woodrow Wilson Award. Brunkow, who earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology, will receive the James Madison Medal.

These awards will be presented on Alumni Day, to be held on campus Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027.

CC Champeau ’23, Austen Mazenko ’24 and Naaji Hylton ’22 planned an ice cream service social in NYC with the support of a Spark Fund award.

Approximately 70 alumni enjoyed ice cream from Bent Spoon, Halo Pub, Caffe Panna and more! They also partnered with a nonprofit and made about 40 cards to deliver to people in New York with serious illnesses. It was a magical day of giving back and tiger spirit!

Evelyn College for Women, an independent college founded by retired Princeton professor Joshua Mcllvaine ’1837, opened Sept. 28, 1887, in a house on the Kings Road a mile from campus, accommodating 50 boarders and 20-30 “day scholars.” Economically distressed by the four-year Panic of 1893, Evelyn closed its doors in 1897 and all records disappeared.

“Postcards to Alumni” is a collection of monthly digital postcards featuring unique facts about Princeton’s history. The postcards were introduced in December 2022 by the Alumni Council’s Princetoniana and Communications and Technology (CAT) Committees, who collaborated on the project.
