From exciting field trips and splash days to science experiments, crafts, games, laughter, and so many unforgettable adventures, our summer campers made memories that will last long after summer is over. We are so proud of all the fun, friendships, learning, and growing that happened along the way!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing campers, families, and staff for making this summer so special. We hope everyone heads into the new school year feeling refreshed, happy, and ready for what’s next!

That smile says it all! This little guy is having the best time on the playground slide! From climbing up to taking the big trip down, playground time gives our toddlers the chance to build confidence, practice balance and coordination, and enjoy plenty of active outdoor fun. We love seeing those happy faces and watching our little ones explore, play, and grow! ☀️🛝

What a magical day at CFD! Our toddlers, preschool/Pre-K friends, and summer camp kids had an absolute blast with Bee Bee the Clown! From amazing magic tricks and silly puppets to colorful balloon animals, there were smiles, giggles, and plenty of excitement all around. Our children loved watching the magic unfold, joining in on the fun, and seeing their favorite balloon creations come to life! We love bringing special experiences like this to CFD and creating happy memories that our children will remember long after the show is over. A little laughter, a little wonder, and a whole lot of fun made for the perfect day! 🎈✨

The article highlights an important reality: child care affordability is not just a family issue—it is a workforce and economic development issue. When families cannot access affordable, high-quality care, it impacts their ability to work, build financial stability, and remain in their communities.

At CFD, we believe sustainable investments in child care are essential to supporting children, strengthening families, and building thriving communities.

We are proud to have Jaime’s voice included in this national conversation and to continue advocating locally and beyond for a stronger, more accessible child care system.

Parenthood is expensive, and where you live influences just how financially draining it can be. When analyzing median costs for annual child care, housing and annual household income, Little Rock, Arizona; Oklahoma City; and Des Moines, Iowa, were the most affordable options, with less than 42%

✂️ Little hands, big skills! This Pre-K friend is practicing his scissor skills with a little help from our wonderful Pre-K teacher, Ms. Kagal! Learning to safely hold, open, close, and control scissors is an important part of developing fine motor strength and hand-eye coordination. These skills also support pre-writing development by strengthening the small muscles children will use for gripping crayons and pencils, forming letters, and gaining better control of their writing movements. ✏️📚 Every snip is building confidence, coordination, and skills for the classroom ahead!

Community Family Development was proud to have our CEO participate in a recent provider roundtable hosted by the Child Care Council.

Opportunities like these bring early childhood providers together to share experiences, discuss the challenges facing our field, and identify ways we can continue strengthening child care for children and families in our community.

We’re grateful to the Child Care Council for creating space for collaboration and for bringing provider voices to the table. When early childhood leaders come together, we can learn from one another, advocate for what our programs need, and work toward a stronger future for child care.
