Confidence starts with the little things 💙

This National Youth Confidence Day, we're sharing a few simple ways parents and caregivers can help children build confidence, learn to use their voices, and feel comfortable speaking up when something doesn't feel right.

From listening to their feelings to teaching them that it's okay to set boundaries, everyday conversations can help children feel more supported and confident in themselves.

Let's help every child know their worth, trust their voice, and feel safe asking for help. 💙

Got plans December 18th? Now you do!

The KZE holiday party is back, bigger and better than ever. We are thrilled to announce that this year's event is a benefit concert for The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse starring NYC's BRANDI & THE ALEXANDERS, and of course, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix! We'll be dancing the night away at TEMPO Performing Arts Center in Kingston.

No tickets presold - admission will be by donation at the door. All proceeds will go to the CPCA, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

A family effort making a big difference!💙

A heartfelt thank you to Deanna Naughton and the entire Naughton family for organizing and participating in a food drive to help fill CPCA’s food pantry! We’re also so grateful to Gayhead Elementary for hosting the drive and helping bring this generosity to life.

These donations will help keep our pantry stocked for the children and families we serve... and we hear there’s more to come!🥳

Over the past three years, Sheri’s dedication, leadership, and hard work have made a meaningful impact throughout our entire organization. In this position as Director of Finance and Operations, Sheri helps keep CPCA running smoothly while supporting the staff, systems, and day-to-day operations that make our work possible.

Sheri is also one of the kindest and friendliest people in the office, and everyone’s go-to person for just about anything! No matter the question or challenge, she is always willing to help and does so with patience, warmth, and a smile. 💙🧡

Happy three-year anniversary Sheri! We are so grateful for everything you do and incredibly lucky to have your leadership, knowledge, and caring spirit on our team. ✨

Today our CPCA team wore purple in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month to show our support for survivors and raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence on individuals, children, and families.

Together we stand for awareness, prevention, and a future free from violence. 💜

Recently in our Supportive Parenting Program 💙

This past week, our parenting classes explored self-awareness and how it can help us grow as parents. Together, participants discussed what self-awareness means, what they may have needed as children, and what their own children need from them today. Through these conversations, parents had the opportunity to reflect on their strengths, identify areas for growth, and consider ways to continue showing up for their children.

While parents participated in class, staff helped our kiddos took advantage of the beautiful weather to play outside, have fun together, and build friendships of their own! ☀️

At the CPCA, we believe that supporting parents is an important part of supporting children. Through programs like Supportive Parenting, we help families build skills, strengthen relationships, and create positive experiences that support healthy development and help break the cycle of child abuse.

Because when we support families, we help children thrive💙
