🌟 Building connections and strengthening leadership skills!

On October 8, the Leadership Dutchess Class of 2027 gathered at the Hudson River Rowing Association for their second session, Managing for Success!

The day began with interactive team-building activities designed to help participants get to know one another, strengthen communication, and better understand each other's DiSC personality profiles.

From lining up in birthday order without speaking to matching fun facts with classmates and building LEGO sculptures using only verbal instructions, students put their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test! 🤝

During the second half of the day, Brian Altmann, Founder and President of DBS Remodel, led an engaging presentation on the importance of soft skills in creating a positive workplace culture, understanding emotional intelligence, and effectively leading a team.

A special thank you to Brian Altmann for sharing his knowledge and experiences with our future leaders, and to the Hudson River Rowing Association for generously donating the space for this session!

We look forward to seeing the Class of 2027 continue to grow, collaborate, and develop their leadership skills throughout the program year!

🎁 Help spread holiday cheer with The Chamber Foundation’s Adopt-A-Family program!

For more than a decade, The Chamber Foundation has helped make the holidays brighter for local families in need through our Adopt-A-Family program, and we're excited to continue the tradition this year! ❤️

Businesses, organizations, families, and individuals are invited to participate by adopting a local family from one of our Workforce Development Center programs and helping fulfill their holiday wish lists.

🎄 Here's how you can make a difference:

🎁 Adopt a Family: Sign up to be matched with a local family and receive their holiday wish list.

❤️ Donate: Help provide gifts, clothing, household essentials, and other necessities. Gift and monetary donations are welcome!

🙋 Volunteer: Lend a helping hand with gift wrapping, pick-up, and delivery!

🌟 A day of teamwork, leadership, and exploring Dutchess County!

On Saturday, September 26, students and mentors from Tracks 1 and 2 of The Chamber Foundation’s Youth Leadership Program came together at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum Hyde Park for their Team Building Day!

Throughout the day, participants got to know one another, challenged their leadership skills, and explored the history and culture of Dutchess County through interactive activities focused on communication, critical thinking, and discovering their inner leadership potential.

A special thank you to Andrea Cucci, Northern and Southern Dutchess Community Coalition Coordinator, for spearheading the curriculum planning and helping organize the day's activities!

We also thank Amy Dittmar, Board Member of Destination Dutchess, for wrapping up the day with an engaging discussion on the importance of tourism, leadership opportunities within the industry, and the many cultural experiences that make Dutchess County special.

Thank you to Fishkill Farms for generously donating apple c***r donuts and Adams Fairacre Farms, Inc. for providing lunch!

📚 Leadership Dutchess is officially underway!

The Leadership Dutchess Class of 2027 gathered for their first session on September 17 at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, kicking off their journey together with a day focused on leadership, learning, and connection.

Throughout the session, participants became more familiar with the goals of the Leadership Dutchess program and explored the leadership behaviors that drive success.

The class also had the opportunity to hear from Leadership Dutchess alumni, who shared their lived experiences, lessons learned, and perspectives from their own leadership journeys.

Thank you to Maureen Solero and our alumni panel for helping make the first session a meaningful start to the program year!

We’re excited to follow the Class of 2027 as they continue to learn, grow, and build connections throughout the months ahead. 🎓

🏆 There’s still time to nominate an inspiring leader for the 2026 ATHENA Award!

The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, September 18! We’re looking to recognize members of the Hudson Valley community who exemplify strong leadership while making a difference for women through guidance, mentorship, encouragement, and advocacy.

The ATHENA Award celebrates individuals who lead collaboratively, demonstrate courage, advocate for others, and inspire those around them to reach their full potential.

Know someone whose leadership deserves to be recognized? Take advantage of the extended deadline and submit your nomination by Friday, September 18!
This year’s distinguished group of honorees will be celebrated on December 3, 2026.

Year after year, our programs bring together emerging leaders, young people, professionals, mentors, and community partners for experiences that inspire growth, build connections, and make an impact throughout the Hudson Valley.
