What a wonderful day at the 37th Annual Ellenville-Wawarsing Chamber of Commerce Blueberry Festival last Saturday, August 8th!
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, Alexis (NAMI Mid-Hudson Board Director) and Lynnell, for representing NAMI Mid-Hudson and connecting with our community throughout the day. With an estimated 1,000–1,500 attendees during peak hours, it was a fantastic opportunity to share mental health resources, answer questions, and let people know that help and hope are available.
We are so grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and everyone who stopped by our table. Together, we’re building a more informed, compassionate community.

“While this day commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, it’s important to acknowledge that it was only the beginning of freedom… There is a saying in mental health: recovery is not linear. Healing is a work in progress. It turns out, freedom is too.”- NAMI Let’s take today as an opportunity to reflect on our history and how it affects us.

In advance of scheduling presentations for students, NAMI Mid-Hudson presented Ending the Silence to this group on Friday, May 15th 2026.

Helen shared, “It was a great presentation! Both presenters are very skilled, and having a youth presenter is a wonderful model. There’s nothing I like better than peer-to-peer work. I would love to have the presentation for our youth program participants.”

Thank you for welcoming us. We look forward to collaborating further and continuing to work together to support youth mental health awareness and education.
