PetConnect Rescue is a Washington DC metro area, foster-based non-profit 501c3 animal rescue organization dedicated to placing abandoned dogs and cats in loving homes. All of our animals are spayed and neutered at an appropriate age and receive full medical care. The placement process is a critical component of our mission as the personalities of both the animals and the adopters are carefully considered. At PetConnect Rescue, we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

We have some absolute darlings in foster care through our wonderful Silver Paws program, which provides dogs over the age of 7 with comprehensive senior veterinary care and helps prepare them for happy, healthy lives with their future families. And we’d love to introduce you to one of them!

Meet Ladybug, affectionately known as Ladypug to her foster mom, who is completely smitten with this 15-pound sweetheart. And with good reason!

At 11 years young, Ladybug has plenty of pep in her step, a wonderfully curious nature, and a serious appreciation for snuggling. She’s housetrained, great with other dogs and kids, and just about as lovely a little companion as anyone could hope for.

We know senior dogs are sometimes overlooked, but goodness, there’s so much to love about a girl like Ladybug. She’s already mastered the art of being a wonderful housemate, and she’d be delighted to spend her days keeping someone company, soaking up affection, and enjoying all the little pleasures of being loved.

Happily Ever After: Trader Joe! 🐾🩵

Trader Joe, now known as Olaf, has appointed himself Farm Sheriff, and he takes his responsibilities very seriously. His daily patrols include keeping an especially close eye on the squirrels, spreading love to everyone he meets, and wrapping his paws around his humans’ necks for the biggest hugs.

We couldn’t be happier for this adorable little guy, who is clearly living his very best life. Happy tails, Sheriff Olaf!!

Good rescue partners make such a difference, and we’re especially grateful for the wonderful folks at Jim Coleman Automotive !!!

Jim Coleman generously sponsors our foster welcome bags and foster signs, helping us equip new foster families and spread the word about the dogs and cats in our care. Their support means so much to a rescue like ours, where foster families are at the heart of everything we do.

And this Sunday, they’re welcoming us to their Bethesda dealership for an afternoon of adoptable dogs, new friendships, and hopefully a few happy matches!

Come see us: Sunday, October 18 | 2–4 PM at Jim Coleman Automotive 10400 Auto Park Avenue, Bethesda, MD.

Maple has brains, beauty, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for putting both to work! ❤️

This brilliant little shepherd mix LOVES to learn, and her foster mom Caitlin knows exactly how to keep that busy brain happy. A little training, some physical exercise, plenty of encouragement, and Maple is in her element!

One of the things we love most about our foster families is how much care they put into getting to know each dog as an individual. Some need adventures and mental challenges. Others need a soft place to land, a slower pace, or simply the comfort of a predictable routine. Our fosters meet them where they are, helping us understand not only what makes each dog thrive, but what kind of forever home will help them continue to flourish.

And for Maple, that means finding someone who will delight in her intelligence, match her enthusiasm, and have as much fun with her as Caitlin does. What a lucky person that will be! ❤️

Three headliners, no record deals. All looking for forever homes!!! 🎸🐾

Introducing Kettle, Tambourine & Bongo, the newest additions to the PetConnect Puppyfest lineup!

🥁 Kettle is our confident little ringleader, always first to start a game and never one to turn down an adventure.

🎶 Tambourine is a devoted belly-rub enthusiast, finding her confidence and discovering all the wonderful things that come with being loved.

🎤 Bongo is the talkative one, with plenty to say and an equally enthusiastic appreciation for snuggling in someone’s lap.

At just 12 weeks old, these adorable black lab/terrier mixes have already made quite an impression on their foster families. They’re affectionate, playful, eager to learn, and ready to find people who will love them through every stage of puppyhood.

Just look at Daffy now!!! 🧡🩵 When he and his four siblings were found in West Virginia, they were in terrible shape. All five needed medical care, but Daffy’s condition was especially serious. His eye couldn’t be saved, and this tiny boy had to undergo surgery to remove it.

Today, Daffy is happier, healthier, and finally free from the pain he was living with. And the best news? He and his siblings, Sylvester, Taz, Tweety, and Bugs, are all ready to find their forever homes THIS WEEK!

We are so grateful to have been able to help these beautiful babies get healthy and settled in foster, and now we are even more grateful to watch them all find homes. Apply to adopt these sweeties—they’ll be posted on the site soon 🧡🤍

Our handsome little Schnauzer has been trying on his fall wardrobe with his foster, and we think he makes a pretty irresistible model!

It’s hard to believe this is the same boy who came into rescue starving, terribly matted, and weighing just 11 pounds. Look at him now!

Arnold is healthy, happy, housetrained, crate trained, wonderful with other dogs, and an enthusiastic cuddler. He’s smart, affectionate, delightfully opinionated, and has all the personality you’d expect from a Schnauzer.

We’re hoping to find him a peaceful home with a fenced yard and someone who appreciates his big personality while providing the loving consistency he needs.

After everything Arnold has been through, we’d love to see him spend this fall exactly where he belongs: in a home of his own. 🍂 Apply to adopt Arnold:
