Many thanks to KalpaVriksha USA Arpita Raksh*t Sabud for organizing this wonderful opportunity to celebrate Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra on his centenary, and to receive his teachings through the amazing torchbearer and generous soul Guru Srimati SUJATA MOHAPATRA. It was an absolute delight to celebrate the occasion and reflect on the journey of bringing Odissi to this area alongside the other dedicated Odissi dancers and supporters in the area. The stories and the lessons we received this weekend will stay with us for a long time, and we will do our best to honor them in our practice. Thank you, thank you!

Performing at Sanskriti - Washington Metro Area’s Boishakhi program yesterday! Always a special treat to share charming mini dance dramas for kids, like “Cholte Pathhe” (“On My Way”) for an audience who can really enjoy the language and wit 🙂 We were also proud to present original choreography, Charukesi Pallavi, by our own senior students Ramya Griddaluri and Naina Srivastava! Thanks to all involved for a great time.

That’s a wrap on DancElation 2026!

Sharing a few moments from an afternoon filled with vibrant performances and so much energy on stage. Each group brought something distinct to the day, and we hope our audience had the chance to experience something new through dance.

We’re especially grateful to Sandy Spring Museum for generously hosting us and providing the beautiful venue that made it all possible.
